Aftermarket tie rod ends - Correct grease boot install?
Aftermarket tie rod ends - Correct grease boot install?
Hi gang,
I hope this isnt a dumb question. I had to change my drivers side tie rod end on my '93 F 150 XLT 2wd. The boot (from Moog) has a tapered side and "open" side. The way i installed it I put the tapered (smaller) side down and the bigger (open) side up top. The top goes around the lower side of the bottom of the tie rod end.
This doesnt make the "balloon" type seal that stock setup makes and when you put grease in, it comes right out for the most part.
I've tried to tuck the upper side in to make the "balloon", but it seems impossible.
Did i do something wrong here?
Thanks,
Glade
