Question Rize???

I have a 6" procomp lift but i am looking for an 8" lift so i was wondering if I could just use the rize 8" lift strut extension braket to raise my control arms? I jacked the truck up and it seemed to still have much travel so I wanted to know if it was safe! I figured that it would be like adding a leveling kit to an already lifted truck, if that makes any sense! Well i hope you guys can help me out with some tips or advise!

if you have a pro comp im assuming you have the spacer?

your best choice would either be buy adjustable bilsteins and set them at 2" for your 8" of lift, then a new rear block and get rid of stacked blocks, or add an add a leaf.

another option is a set of coilovers, fabtech has blems for sale for about $570 i think for both fronts, if they still have the blems available. you can crank the coilovers to set you at 8"

I was trying to sell the set I had from my Rize a while back and was told that they would not work due to clearance problems w/ the knuckles. Memeber Bud-something rather actually tried to use a set w/ his CST lift and ran into this problem. To my knowledge, nobody has tried it w/ any other lift. In theory you are correct but until you give it a shot, you'll never know for sure. Just an FYI, the Rize actually measures 8.5" not the advertised 8".

rize appears to be bigger than 8", cause my old truck was at 8" and a rize was still taller, i would go with the bilsteins that way you also get a new shock and you know it will work

You have 2 choices that I know if you go with the Bilsteins.

1) Get the +6" you are talking about and then get a 2" leveler to bolt on top

2) Get the +2" adjustable's and use the 6" spacer from your lift.

The later would likely be the cheaper route but the first option would look better in my opinion

The Rize strut extensions will only work on a Rize kit, because it is bigger than 8" its more like 8.5" to 9". A while back a few of us on here experiemented with the rize struts on a CST 8" and it was a major no go too

"Will not work with a cst 8"" is the only confirmitive statement that can be made though as nobody, to my knowledge, has tried it with anything else. When I had my Rize, I measured 8.5" exactly from dead center of mounting holes.

Yeah so rize is out of the question! I just want to get rid of all spacers though but i dont mind sticking with the procomp spacer so i think i might go with the 2" adjustable bilsteins.

funny i haven’t been on here in 3 months and the day i come on here people are talking about me! ha ha makes me feel special

yeah i tried to use rize strut extensions on my CST, the angles looked like hell and it rubbed against my spindle... in other words NO it wont work, buy some coilovers and call it a day.

If you want to get rid of all spacers then buy a set of coilovers intended for a 6" lift and then crank them up the extra 2" you want. There's a few different companies to choose from but this is a much more expensive route to go than the 2" Bilsteins and using your ProComp spacers. Besides, a cranked coilover will generally harshen your ride.

Hey bud8817, you should let me bulid you a box!

I built this box myself and it pounds like no other!

Since the rize extensions wont work! I take it that their coilovers wont work as well? Im just trying to maintain a soft ride without spacers or anything like that!

no not with a 6" lift. i always thought that getting a king coilover, fab, or procomp, and then putting a leveling kit ontop of that would work well. you could keep the great ride the aftermarket coilover gives you and have the hight you want with only have a small spacer.

i actually sold my truck about 3 months ago. i moved to Hollywood and needed something smaller. I'm diving a Audi S4 now...

I have decided to go with the bilstein leveling shocks because i guess the spacer doesnt look all that bad and i dont want to have to fabricate or buy any new spacers as well as coilovers! Oh and im getting 6" atlas rear lift springs as well! Thank you for all the info!
