Sounds like you want to wheel it without breaking when you go out. I would do a mid travel kit get 12 inches of travel and will handle well in the desert. Camburg sells a 7.0 kit where it is a spindle lift setup. You will get a 3 to 4 inch lift and have travel to go with it. That should make best of both worlds. Slight lift and take a beaten. As long as you don't jump it 50ft should be good. A mid travel kit from any good fab shop will do you fine. A lift kit is good for getting it up than you are dropping all that cash in shocks might as well get the travel numbers with it. A lift shock and a well valved desert shock are two different things. Lift gets it up and accomadates for larger rims and tires for daily driving. A desert shock does the same lil stiffer yet in the desert smooth as butter. If you plan on using your truck as a daily driver/toy spend the extra bucks and do it right as you are counting on the truck be your everything. No need to chance breaking it sunday night and wondering how to get to work monday morning.

the camburg 7.0 is for 2wd only. wont work. drb would probably be your best route. are you living in portsmouth live your profile says or are you stationed out on the west coast? as said before i live in virginia beach right now(for another month) and there would be no place you could even use your mid travel kit. it would just be a hooked up streeet queen. theres nothing necessarily wrong with that. its all about what YOU want.

Well since you are 4wd you have jd fab for your only kit that is for the 04-08 f1's. You could put in bolt in coli overs and the uca from camburug or total choas. What are you looking to do with your truck? Just drive it in the dirt or jump it and such? Driving around bolt in would be good with some 35's and 17 inch rim as more sidewall so more cushion. Stick with 17's so you don't pan cake a rim in the dirt imo.

Well than I would go with bolt in shocks from fox, king, or sawaway with a upper control arm and a deaver springs in the rear. Should do what you want.

well everywhere i went to in outerbanks has a speed linit of like 25 on the sand so i think just some coilovers and would do what youre looking for except for the hight issue. if you already have a 3" BL and a leveling kit when you take it all off and put on coilovers it'll be the hight of having just a leveling kit.

Coil overs well do you fine than. Gonna be equal to a stock truck with a leveling kit height wise. Performance will be way better off with the coil overs.
