Question Lift Advice

Looking to lift my truck hopefully by next spring. Looking for any adivce on height, brand, etc. Don't relly want to spend 3 or 4 grand on a lift but I don't want a p.o.s. either. I'm looking to go 3-6". As of now, my plan was to just put a 3" level on the front, and some block spacers in the back...but thought maybe i should do it the right way.

You can get a 3" PA body lift, 4" Rancho, 6" Pro-Comp, 6" Fabtech and those are the big names. Rancho and Pro comp should cost about the same. I think Fabtech will be a little more (don't quote me on that) but it is also an amazing offroad lift! And of course the 3" body will be your cheapest route out of all these. If you do a 3" level your CV angles are gonna be all sorts of jacked up and your just asking for problems. You can do the 2-2.5" leveling kit. It all depends on what size tires you wanna run and if your gonna offroad at all. Give us some details and we can help you out

I'm looking to run 35's most likely, not a whole lot of off road use, but not 100% on-road either. Mostly street tho.

No offense, but why use a lift at all if this is all you want to do? 35's can be used with just a leveling kit and if you are just going for mild off road use, then the full benefits of a lift wouldn't be seen anyway.

If you are going for appearance of course, sure the lift would look better that way. My goals were exactly what yours are and I just went with the 2" leveling kit, 35" ProComp Xtreme MT's, and take it off road about one weekend a month. Never an issue and have yet to find a place i can't get that others with lifts can. Granted its pretty mild off roading though.

Just my thoughts of course, but in the interest of saving 2000-3000 dollars, what you want can be accomplished without a lift.

if it is mostly gunna be street driven i would go with the pro-comp , plenty of members on here are running that lift.

i remember they were on ebay for like $1400.

or you can go with a Body Lift for about $1000 installed, thats what im running, 3" BDS body lift and 2.5" leveling kit. i dont think it looks too bad

heres a few pics to give you an idea

I would do like idnc76 did, thats the route I went, then later on you could add a 6" lift if you want to

I would just go with a leveling kit, only problem being I work construction so i often have a load in the back and i like the way it sits level with a load. So if i level the front the back would sag. I'm a little picky i guess, might just have to do that for now for cost reasons.

if thats the case... Then just throw an add a leaf on the back. you can find the procomp for 100 shipped if you look around and install it yourself, or just take your truck to a reputable frame shop and have them re bend your leafs or add a leaf (many of these kind of places do this with their own supplies) for like 150-200 including labor.

That way you get lifted up and when you haul - you'll be about level.

(the AAL from procomp adds about 1.5 inches to the rear well height - and if you had a custom job done then they should be able to lift you more or less)

I went with a 3" body lift and a leveling kit. Had plently of room for 35" Mud Grapplers without concern for rubbing. Fairly inexpensive doing it that way. I would stay away from Superlift or Rancho, not to fond of their kits (kinda cheap). If you want to spend a bit more Fabtech 6" is the way to go IMHO. I don't have the truck anymore, but here are the pictures when I had it:

With 35s and a leveling kit, you run into rubbing issues as well as poor CV angles. I also think that 35s look way too stuffed under a leveling kit, and if you haul stuff a lot it will look incredibly goofy.

Go with Fabtech. Rear blocks instead of stacked shackles, and all new shocks. My truck doesn't squat at all even with hundreds of pounds in the back. I was in the same boat, thinking about a 3" leveling kit or a 4" Rancho and I do not regret getting the 6" lift at all.
