rcd lift for 01-03 supercrew
rcd lift for 01-03 supercrew
I was searching at 4wheelonline and saw an RCD lift kit that I'm really interested in. It states that the kit is a 5" lift but the supercrews will only achive 4" of lift due to the "new torsion bar system". I was just wondering just what this meant?
I really would only like to do a 4" and the Rancho website that I looked at showed a screw but it looked like my truck stock w/ a lt285/75/16 on it which I have now!!
i really don't want to do a body lift as I dont like how those look even w/ the gap guards on them. Has anyone installed this lift on a screw?97-03

I have an RCD kit, got it installed years ago. But it wouldn't supprise me if this torsion bar issue was present back then, because I had issues with rubbing 35's.
Go with a Fab-tech, this way you have a 6" lift, and you can clear 35's with no rubbing issues. Later on if you want to go higher you can add a body lift and then clear 38's with no issues also.

Jersey- my truck is daily driven and I dont want anything larger than the 33's that I already have. I use it somtimes for my job and dont really want to climb in and out of the bed to get stuff when I can just lean over the side to get what I need. BTW how does your screw ride w/ the RCD?
The ride is great. Bilstiens came with the lift so that's what I ran.. 33's should work better then the 35's I had.
I hear you about going to big, but I don't use mine for work so it doesn't matter too much.

Remember, the ride height on our trucks is adjustable by changing the preload on the torsion bars. The torsion bars on the Supercrews are also shorter (lighter spring rate) than the other cab style F-150's to improve ride quality. I assume this may be why RCD says their kit will give 4 inches of lift on Supercrews.
call national wheel and tire if you have questions i have the rcd 5inch lift but not on yet, but when i ordered i called and there really nice and will answere all your questions about ride height etc... you get everything you need unless you want different color boot shocks you need to order those.
