Shackle question

OK forgive the "newbie" question, but I am trying to lower the rear end of my truck 2" to give it that "leveled" look. I am confused though, I am looking at different brands of lowering shackles, all are 2" lowering shackles, but they are different lengths. How can that be? Can someone please shed some light on this for me please?

On our trucks a smaller shackle lifts the rr , Spring is above the shackle. don`t know much about lowering but I guess a taller shackle will drop the rr.

Chazf150 is correct. a taller shackle will drop the back of the truck. What model f-150 do you have?

Most times if you want to lvl a 4*4 you can just remove the riser block from the back. My FX4 had a 2in riser in the back and when I took it out it lvled out nicely.

Well then those drop shackles will do just what you want them to.

Ground Force makes an excellent 2" kit that includes wedge spacers to keep the pinion in alignment. I highly recommend the kit.

+1 for the Ground Force kit. It's a little bit more than some other kits but it works great.
