7.5inch fabtech lift questions
Hey I am new to the site but i have a 98 f150 2wd that I am going to put the 7.5 inch fabtech lift on. I plan on putting it on myself and I got quoted $1300 from off road concepts for the lift and driveshaft spacer if needed. I was wondering if maybe any of yall knew of a place that I could pick it up cheaper or if that was a good price? Also, i have a pair of 285/75/r16 trail diggers on it now. I was wondering how it would look with those tires on it, or if it would look like i had some donuts? I just dont want to get rid of the tires yet because they are practically new and i like the way they look. I have heard that lift doesnt look right with out 35's though. Any suggestions or help?
Yeah im sure it will be much better.
And I will be getting 35's as soon as i can pay for the new wheels and tires at the same time. I just want to get some more miles out of the 33's before i put new tires on it. And I was hoping it would look alright with smaller tires for a couple months till i put new tires and wheels on. Its hard to find wheels for a 98 f150 which makes it more difficult. Everywhere that I check tells me they will have to get back with me because most of the wheels are phased out and they need to talk to their distributors. Thanks for the response

I love it so far, but I've only had it for three weeks. I can't wait to get some new rims and 35s to complete the look. If your leafs are as saggy as mine I would say order a 2" add-a-leaf, 2" lift shackle, or new leaf spring packs when you order the lift so you can put them on with the lift. This is to level out the truck because the block that comes with the kit is only 5.5". My truck is 2" lower in the rear.
I also put this lift on myself.
Another thing is when I put my stock rims and 265/70s on, the front two tires rubbed on the spindle pretty bad. A 1/4" spacer fixed this until I can get rims with a lower backspacing.
Any other question you have I would be happy to answer.

It would probably help if I had pictures so you could see but my truck sits pretty level. There is almost a half inch difference between the front and the back. It doesnt sit like a 2wd normally would but I couldnt tell you why. To my knowledge there has been nothing done to the suspension but those 285's fit fine. But thanks alot for the help. I plan on doin it myself also was there anything else you had to put on extra other than the spacer for the spindles? As far as I have heard the lift is a pretty easy thing to put together.Your truck didnt need the driveshaft spacer did it?

Nope, didn't need a drive shaft spacer. Didn't need anything else, except for a big breaker bar. The thing about the back is mine sat about level before the lift also, this is why I think I need the extra 2" in the back. But you might have a spacer up front already so that might be why you sit level. In any case if your truck measures about 2" higher in the back now I don't think you'll need something else for the back later.
