will front diff come out with fabtech???

i installed my fabtech lift and put the front diff in because i had to drive on my stock wheels for a week and didnt want to run 4 88's with 30" tires and i found out my rims are coming tommorow so i can mount them up what im wondering is if i take the 4 front diff mounts off can i rotate the diff up and drop it out the bottom or do i have to remove the lower sub frames??? its an 01 offroad 4x4 with a 5.4l in it

My guess is that roll-n-drop isn't going to work. I would think the front cross member has to come out. If you are taking it out for the r&p swap just taking off the skid plate should give you enough access to pull the mounting bolt that goes through the diff cover. If you can get that off you should have enough room to do the swap without removing the diff completely.

You're asking if you can remove the front diff with the fabtech lift installed w/o removing anything? If that's what you're asking, then yes, you can do that. Just remove those bolts and remember to take off that plastic piece that covers the vacuum lines, because if you don't, the diff won't clear. I can't remember how exactly it comes out, but just work it out slowly, it will definitely drop out.

edit: definitely remove the diff and swap the gears on a bench if you can.

just unbolt your cv shaft to front diff bolts, and the bolts holding the diff into the lift crossmembers. remember to unplug the two lines from the diff, and take the oil drip catch plastic piece off as well. obviously, you will also need to remove the lift diff skid plate as well.

there's no way to pull off the cover w/ the axle in the truck, it will come out just as easily as you dropped it down into the fabtech crossmembers.
