what air bag kit to get? for towing

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ok guys (and girls). i towed a trailer out of town about two hrs from fine stock. i pulled a trailer with a full size bronco on it when my truck was stock and it did fine. i have a edge programmer on it too. things have changed

6" fabtech lift
35x13.50x20 pro comp extreme all terrains
20x10 kmc monsters.

now i want to tow this bronco again. now with the big tires and lift, the rear sags a little, so i know towing would be a pain like this.

i need your advice on what air bag kit to get and a good trailer brake to get for it. nothing fancy. i got like a 500 dollar budget. thanks

I have the air ride bags and ordered a 4" spacer for my 6" lift. I have not towed with mine yet but hauled some heavy loads in the box. Did a great job and leveled the truck under load. I will let you know here in a week or two how it handles with the lift, shouldn't be any different.

Firestone FTW! I just got done installing mine with control panel in cab and love it. AAL are nice but air bags have more adjustability.

x2 Firestone here as well. Custom mounts for the 6in lift thought.

You can get airbags for $300, control panel for roughly $200. AAL are a way cheaper alternative however

Yes, the bags around $300. and spacers for under $100 . Way under her budget . And plus you dont have to have a control panel . Still better than AAL (IMO ).. If i had an AAL I wouldn't be able to get in my garage. With the bags I just let the air out and drive in .

How often will you tow going forward? I am in the same boat and am examining all options. I think a good solution for the infrequent tower are overload/helper springs like the ones from Hellwig: Hellwig Products

I tow my boat a few times during the spring/summer months but have not towed since relifting the rear of my truck. Airbags are what I want, but may be overkill for my needs (and wallet). The overload springs are a good option and are easily installed/removed if/when needed.
