worn springs?

hi i have a 93 f150, straight 6, 2wd, 198k miles. i have an issue with old worn out springs. i really dont know how do desctibe it with out sounding like a total moron so ill just show a pic

thats the rear of the spring. both sides are like this, the front of the spring is a few inches from hitting the rubbers like the rear of the springs are. my question is will helper springs fix this or do i need totaly new springs? or are there any other options? any and all help is greatly appreciated, thank you in advance!

i believe that is your helper spring. It should only be touching the rubber under a load. so id say your leaf springs under the helper spring are shot. (the long springs). Only fix is to get new ones. Id check a junkyard.

im not 100% sure. But there would be more springs and longer U Bolts is all. length should be the same. But the axles might be diffrent between the f-150 and f-250. thus the pin diamater that holds the springs together could be bigger. And that pin slides into a hole on the axle mount. if the pin is bigger then it wont fit.

80-96 F150 2wd have 2.5" wide rear leaf springs and the f150 4x4, f250 and f350 have 3" wide rear springs so they will not fit but you can get a heavy duty version of yours or just new springs will help from your auxiliary spring from hitting prematurely. http://www.generalspringkc.com/index...parent=77&pg=1

well i was doing some searching around on here, i came accross this thread
https://www.f150online.com/forums/pr...-1993-xlt.html
if you scroll down to where he has the bed removed you can see that his truck doesnt have the springs that are touching on mine. are my "touching" springs just helper springs that were added aftermarket? or since his is a xlt it has different springs? thanks for all the info everyone!

p.s. thank you to olds442111 for the pic, hope you dont mind me linking your thread. (nice truck btw!)

never mind, i just re-read what was already said, it answered my question
