2003 F150 Front Springs Info

Want to replace my front springs and not lower the truck much. So I am looking at installing the F250 light duty springs and maybe cut them down. Anybody know the p/n or spring rate for these springs? I believe they came on late 90's F250's that looked like F150's. Looking for stiffer springs obviously and about 1 inch drop.

you have a 4WD truck, right? if you are 2WD, disregard this entire post. the F-250 LD was a 4WD truck. by front springs, you are referring to the torsion bars/springs right? if so, the F-250 LD torsion bars will bolt right in. they are 5'' longer, and thicker in the middle. their larger size gives you a stiffer front suspension. there is no need to cut them down. they bolt into the a-arms like your current ones, and the torsion bar crossmember is relocated back 5'' to compensate for the extra length. you can back the preload off of the torsion bars to drop the front end a little. the frame should be predrilled for the crossmember relocation. all the stock hardware is retained, and no other additional parts are needed.

Actually looking for coil springs. I thought that the light duty F250's had them.

You can use front springs from a Lightning and that will lower the front by about 2", i think.

I believe the Lightnings and Harley trucks sit an inch lower than other 4x2 F-150's.

I want stiffer springs as well and to my knowledge the L/HD are not really stiffer. Most aftermarket coils lower the truck too much for me. So I was hoping that the F250 that looked like the F150 had springs that I oculd use. There was also the F150 with 7700 load and maybe those front coil springs would work as well.

I may be having a brain fart, but I can't recall seeing a 4x2 with the 7700 lb. package. If they made them, they would probably have stiffer coilsprings.
