Protect paint?

I just got a six inch lift on my 08 F150 with 35 inch AT tires. I don't like the look of flares and heard about some 3M tape that could be used to put on your whel wells to protect them. Anybody ever heard of this? Also I've been considering the add a leaf for the *** end. Anybody have any recommendations?

Yes, 3M makes a product that is basically a clear vinyl. It is applied to the body of vehicles directly behind the wheelwells to protect the paint.

i have tried this stuff in the past and i wasn't real impressed with it. i used it on the flareside box on my ranger offroad (lifted on 33's on 15x8's stuck out a good 3 inches) anyways, the road spray ate right thru the 3m stuff and then right thru the paint. flares will work the best IMO. that stuff was thrashed in less than 2 months in the winter

Also http://www.winnerswindowtint2.com/wwt/ is a local place that I use for all my tint work. They do a clear application that goes on any part of a vehicles sheetmetal to protect the paint. I understand you're not local but they do all of their stuff as computer cut pieces. You might be able to give them a shout and have them precut and ship to you for you to apply. They do it on a lot of high dollar sports cars on the front fascia and hood to protect from road debrie and bugs and what not.

I decided not to because I opted to go with an 8" Rize bumped to 10.5" instead. I just got my truck back yesterday and as soon as i get the chance i will update my pictures. It looks VERY different know because not only did the suspension go on but a lot of other things on the exterior have changed too. Thanks for the compliment though. Let me know if you decide to go with the AAL....it's not going anywhere.

I just installed a pro-comp AAL on my truck, very good investment, especially if you tow anything.

It stiffens the rear end a bit preventing any sagging/drooping with weight in the bed, or while towing a trailer, handles much better when on flexable roads you wont feel the trailer flex around so much and the rear will match the front.
