If you put 35s on your truck without a lift, your truck is bulldogging and your tires rub. Looks rediculous with the tires cramed up in the wheel well. Keep the stock look with a 2" rake, trust me.

OK, we trust you

You do know what bulldogging means don't you because by your statement I think you have it backwards.

Do you have any rubbing at a full turn to either side with 295/70/18s on stock rims?

Dave M or others - my truck looks just like Dave's, light color 4x4 screw stock wheels, and I'm trying to decide what replacement tires I want to go with. The truck still has the stock 275/65/18's and I'm trying to decide between 305/60/18 and 325/60/18 like Dave's (page 2). I'm looking for a wider tire to improve the stance and a taller tire if possible to help fill the fender well. I think the stance on yours is great but had a question....not being negative but why did you go with a tire that is 1" taller than stock and then add a 2-1/2" lift? Did the tires rub? Seems like the lift would counter the bigger tire?

I would prefer not lifting if I don't have to..... If I have to use a lift with the 325's then I may try the 305's but like I said Dave M's looks great....I'm just concerned with adding the lifts and messing with the drive train.

Do I have to use a lift with 325's? with 305's?

The lift isn't going to make much difference in the width of your tire. Backspacing is going to be the main concern. There isn't a lot of room between the tire and control arm, and this is where most of the rubbing comes from with a wide tire on a factory wheel.

325/60 will rub the upper control arm at full lock. I ran 325/60/18 Nitto Terra Grapplers with a 2.5 leveling kit for 60,000 miles, and trust me...It will rub. It will not cause damage, and it isn't a big deal. The 325's are a good wide tire (12.8"), gives you a real beefy truck look. But if you want no rub at all...I would not go with that wide of a tire.

In my opinion, I would stick with a 285 or 295. It's still plenty wide and you're not going to have to worry about rubbing. That extra inch isn't really worth it when you have your wheel rubbing on your control arm all the time.

A local tire store ordered the 325's and 305's for me to test. The 325's did rub as soon as it wass lowered off the rack, so would have been worse once it settled. I do beleive the 325"s would have worked with something like a 1/4" spacer.
The 305/60/18 were the ticket....completely stock, no rubbing, and I still ended up the look I wanted.

thanks for the input
