My question here is on the rear springs on my 06 FX4 Supercab. I'm trying to figure out how many rear leaf springs i'm suppose to have. The previous owner added a leaf to now make it 4 in total. My neighbors 07 FX4 OEM has only 3 springs, and the wreckers say that most 4X4's have 4. So i need to find someone who has a 04 to 08 FX4 to see how many OEM rear leaf springs they have. Maybe all i need to do is take that extra 1 leaf out to get that 1" in height gone, and the ride back to normal. Let me know asap anyone. Cheers

 

my 06 fx4 stock had 3 and when i added my add a leaf it has 4 now

 

The extra leaf looks like it was put in then i guess between the 1st (top spring) and the 2nd one. Are your springs 3" wide? My stack of 4 leafs i have now are 1 and 7/8" thick. Are those your measurements? Where did you add your extra leaf. Thanks for replying by the way. I have photos in my Albums you can check out. Cheers

 

I have my AAL between the overload(bottom spring) and the 2nd spring up

 

i think they changed the amount of leaves between 04-08. 06-08 has 1 less leaf, than the 04/05

 

The Ford Dealer in town can't even answer this question. All they do is ask for my VIN# and tell me what my replacement spring is, with no specs. They don't know if it's a 4 leaf or a 3 leaf. I think it's starting to look like it should be a 3 leaf system. I'm hoping it's 3" wide too, and the stack will be the same as the rest of yours.

 

100% correct...I meant to add that, forgot to though...mine had 4 leafs the newer ones have 3

 

Who needs the Ford Dealer when i have you guys as a reliable source. Tomorrow it's a trip to the suspension/spring shop and out with that AAL. Thanks very much Gents. Cheers
