need some help..and advice!
i have an 05' FX4 i want to lift it six inches, but im not sure where and what to get! i have seen alot of nice products on the net. what will i need? whats a good 6" lift kit, and wheres a good place to buy and install it? after my lift what else will i need to do? i do not go off road much but i will now and then after i get it done...but its mostly for looks at this point. all help and advice will be greatly appreciated...thanks...from marion ohio

ok...where is a good place to buy? sorry im such a noob at this but i need a little more info, do i just buy the kit and have someone install? do i need to buy anything extra? do i need to change my gearing?

well before you go and just dive in and go to a shop looking like an idiot and they know they can rip you off. price lift kits on the internet. fabtech i think can be had for b/w 1600-1800. and add $700 on top of that for install. usually install can be cheaper around 400-500 but i think most people pay around $600. just depends on your area and how much they charge for shop labor. i would not pay above $2400 for a basic fabtech lift installed.
what do you plan to do with your truck? street queen or weekend offroader?
if your gonna be a street queen, a pro comp will be fine and you can get it for about $1300. so you can get lifted for under $2k.
if your gonna be going offroad a pro comp stage 2 or fabtech stage 2 with the coilovers would be a much combo for you.
i paid $2100 for my BDS 6". its a really good kit, no questions asked warranty, you break it they replace it.
not many people here run superlift or rough country a few people have them but not many.
it might be cheaper for you to buy your wheels and tires from someone else, but if you buy wheels/tires and lift from a shop they will probly cut you a deal. i paid $3550 for my wheels tires and lift OTD. they just asked me what i had seen the stuff for and matched it.

OK...waiting on my lift to arrive, i bought an 8" rize kit---20" kmc rockstar (black) 20x10---37" nitto Terra grapplers---sct programmer---and a Pioneer AVH-P4100DVD with a 7" touchscreen display. i will post pics...should be totally complete in about 2 weeks! thanks for all the advice.
