Lift Kits

Hi, i am kinda new to lifting trucks etc, and im looking to do some sort of lift kit to my truck. Im a 19 year old kid with an 08 f150 xlt supercrew 4x4. I dont have tons of money but ive always wanted a lifted truck. Anyone out there with any ideas? I've looked into just doing a 2.5" leveling kit and adding a 3" body lift, but ive always loved higher trucks. Someone please help!! Any ideas are open to atleast being looked into so please...anything at all

2.5 inch leveling kit by Hell Bent Steel they have a great product and free shiping for around 60.00
With this kit you can put 33 inch tires on with no problem if you go with a 3 inch leveling kit your front end will be to high. Stay with a 2.5 inch kit.

Thanks...thats what i was leaning towards either way...on top of that do you have any suggestions? i mean is a 3" body lift kit worth it alone or is that more commonly used to add on to a suspension lift? Do you know of any cheaper suspension lifts?

This truck appears to have a 2" level kit and 3" body lift. I don't for sure but he says it has a 5" lift and I don't know of any suspension kit that height and the tow hooks are a little far from the bumper.

By the time you install a body lift & leveling kit, you might as well start off with a Level 1 suspension lift. You can eventually upgrade that lift with adjustable coilovers. I would suggest replacement shocks such as Billstein, Belltech, or Go Rancho, as opposed to a block of metal. There is an additional option for mild leveling. Daystar & Explorer ProComp both offer urethane, 2 piece coil spring spacers. I got them instead of the blocks of metal because I wasn't all that comfortable with metal-on-metal rubbing; which is also why I picked out a lift kit with adjustable coilovers & steering stablilizer. However, other guys use steel block spacers without any issues at all.

As much as a body lift cost with installation, I would just save up and get a suspension lift. On these new body styles, the body lifts are a PITA to install, so most shops charge very well to do it.

Or just go all out and get a 12" lift!

The front kit consists of bracketry that is modeled in 3D CAD using an artistic design touch, but with form and function foremost in mind. Starting with 1/4" A36 steel the bracketry is CNC cut and formed into a boxed and gusseted configuration, then welded at strategic points to maximize strength. By using these manufacturing methods and combining them with our quad link support struts and integrated skid plate, we at Rize Industries are able to supply drop down bracketry that is both stronger and more visually appealing than that of the competition.

The industry standard of raising the steering point way up on the spindle to address the steering issues on most of the competitions lift kits was not an option for Rize Industries. That method not only puts undo leverage on the rack & pinion system, it also promotes a "heavier" steering feel. Here at Rize Industries we have designed a system that we refer to as L.S.R.S. This unique "Linear Slide Rack Support" system helps isolate the rack from the exaggerated forces that are generated by using larger wheel and tire packages. Not only does our L.S.R.S. help take stress loads off the rack & pinion unit, it allows the steering point on the spindle to remain in the stock location, thereby creating a factory type steering feel.

Combining all this with special bracketry to use the stock coil-overs, or an upgrade to optional aftermarket coil-overs, what you end up is simply the finest F150/Expedition Front Lift Kit on the market, PERIOD, END OF STORY!

You can get a 6" Pro comp stage 1 off ebay for $1,288. After a leveling kit, body lift and install you will be pretty close to that price. I would just save alittle more and get the full suspension, it looks 10 times better than a body lift. Plus you can upgrade to coilovers in the future and crank them 2 inches and run 37's. Rough country also has a 6" lift on ebay for $1,199.

Save up money for a little longer and go for a big lift. That's what I am doing. IMO its better to do that than do a body lift.
