What kinda of issues?

I was trying to use the stock 79 trac-bar. It has some bends in it though that would require me to move the frame mount so far back it would interfere with the coil buckets. Move it forward then it interferes with the drag link at full lock. I'm having a new straight trac-bar made now. I'd do it myself but i'm tired of screwing with it and just want it on the trail haha

Im having just plain clearance issues with the whole steering setup. Hard to explain.

If i get a chance ill take pictures of the places im having troubles with. Just got the trac-bar made and getting all installed now.

And too think the clearance issuses are just coming by dry steering in the shop, cant wait till its actually rolling to find problems

Yeah i'm afraid if I stuff the passenger side wheel and happen to be at full lock it'll hit. Granted, if I do that then i'll probably be replacing my shafts or at least u-joints soon after haha

pretty much 90% of the guys in this thread dont understand the time and effort it takes to do a swap like this it is a couple month job, ill give it another couple weeks before you get it on the road and another month to work out all the kinks, its not a sign of poor work or lack of knowledge by any means, its just a big job thats fully custom and nothing ever wants to work.

Im still waiting to see some more pictures of this thing! post some ASAP. i wanna see the steering issue you have

ya i second that lol its not a bolt on kit that takes two days to put on it. it takes awhile to get everything fitting properly double checking everything...

but i think the reason everyone is pushing so hard is they just want to get updates and pictures...

but another thing for cecil is im pretty sure he lives in tampa and the shop his truck is at is in i think dunedin or palm harbor (neighboring cities) which is a little distance for him.... but i may be wrong im just bored at work and im talking lol

The truck should be driving by friday. Not to say it will be completely ready there might need to be some adjusting here and there but nothing much. It will opporate correctly and safely,

The shop actually got moved, so now its aout 1 hour away in traffic. Not too bad really.

The truck is SOOO close, ive got to get rear rotors, some end links (out in clearwater) got to do the finish mounts for the shocks and trac bars. The steering issues are over, a guy at the shop actually solved the problem himself in about an hour. It was just alittle problem, kinda stupid really. But we werent seeing it. Always helps to have another set of eyes to look at things. Everyone sees different things.

Now as far as i know the truck WILL be done by friday and driving down the road, i really have no choice. Ive made a committment and will be holding to it, no questions! If i have to take the day off and pull a 24+ hours it will be ready.

The truck will still be missing the second t-case, and front d-shaft but that was already planned. I knew that MONTHS ago.

Honestly i think the biggest reason the build has taken so long is due to me WAITING on parts. Not parts that are already ordered but i waited a very long time to find deals, i was doing this on a budget, flexible but still a budget. I waited for good deals. I could have bought all brand new parts and would have waited less but thats not what i was wantin to do. Waiting was the biggest part.

Im still holding off on pictures, but i might post some soon. I was just there tonight but didnt take any pictures.

If you're willing to wait you can find great deals. I have a ton of parts I got for free by helping club members, or just being in the right place at the right time. I got four decent 35"s for 100$ by being persistent and checking craigslist. Patience has it's rewards

yeah i got my 40's for 400 with 60% tread.

The wheels and axles with 5.13's tru-trac in front 5.13's and locker in rear for $1500. Thats a good deal for KingPin d60's in my book.

Front leaf springs 100 bucks, rear springs 550 new.
