Is the 3" Hell Bent Leveling kit too much?
Just wondering if the hell bent steel 3" leveling kit is too much angle or camber or drive shafts are stretched out too much Please let me know or even post a pic with this kit my gf just bought me one it seems too much but my truck does have 3" of Rake 4x4 by the way i havent installed it yet thanks alot...
If you are going to be going offroad or have it locked in 4wheel drive alot then no. But if you are going to be daily driving in town like a street queen, then you should be fine. Their are plenty of people on here with 3" leveling kits that say they have no problem.
check out my gallery... I put mine in 4wd every chance I get... I love the height, but you can see the angles are not terrible, but they aren't great either... I don't ever go fast when I have it in 4wd. My mechanic said it should be perfectly fine with the kit on there and that the 4wd should work perfect.
but don't go by just me. Ask around and get other people's opinion - I may in fact be downsizing to a 1.5" level kit from AutoSpring
i put around 3500 km on my truck with the 3 inch readylift kit and have had no problems. I do alot of offroading with 4 wheel drive and ive had the 4 wheel drive on all winter for 2 months now.

the 3" puts killer amounts of strain on those ball joints and will cuase a lot of wear and tear on them and eventually you will be replacing them regularly. the 2.5 does put a little strain on them but not nearly as much. thats what i have and over a year and close to 25,000 miles later; im still in good shape. the 2" is not a bad option either but imo its just not enough.
Just to throw this out there: FYI, to replace ball joints, it will cost ~$800. You can buy and have installed the Camburg A-arm and ball joint (its 1" in diameter, which replaces the stock 1/4" ball joint) for about 800 as well. Your CV should be fine. I hear of guys tearing CV boots, but you can use silicone spray on the thing to keep it flexible... I honestly don't know how you tear a boot unless it dry rots or gets punctured.
