why?????

why not run a n/a 5.4 with the paschal 6.2 stroker kit, some worked heads (2 or 4 valve), cams 42# or 39# injectors, 90mm MAF a 255 oe 325lph in tank pump and a good tune and call it it a day, that way you's still be ford powered and you'd be able to maintain your factory wiring and accessories even though fabrication doesn't appear to be an inssue with you

nice project

nice project
The Ls motors have alot of HP and torque right fromt he start, and can be wired to run off of about 6 wires. I would love to stay Ford powered, but look at how much you have to put into that 5.4 to wake it up really. And only to pretty much be blown up after a season or two of hard racing on it. If it was a street truck, that would not be held at just about red line for hours on end sometimes, would not be an issue. If i went with a 5.4, it would just be pretty much stock with S/C and tuned. Gotta remember K.I.S.S. Especially in off-road. Also, the turbo 400 tranny that can go with the LS are a bit stronger than the A4ld or whatever they are. I dont know.. If i stay Ford powered it will be the 5.4 with S/C and tuned. if not.. Be an LS motor. The truck will be a Mutt none the less.

But always keep it simple stupid.. K.I.S.S.

the 4r70 is a crappy trans and is the weak link in most projects, i'd just keep a ford engine in it like a 351w based motor or something

anyway, keep us posted on what you do to your truck, it looks like fun

The top and bottom plate are 3/16 cold roll plate, as well as where the upper uniball mounts, and the center section since the hydro bump will bump off that point. The sides and internal gussets are 1/8 mild steel. I love the penetraion lines..kinda makes me want to just clearcoat it. Ha.

I figuered might as well spend the $$$, stopping is kinda important when you need to. And with 37in heavy race tires. but i got a SMOKIN deal on the wilwoods w/ brake pads..pretty much half off and still in boxes.

Ill have more pics wednesday night, the upper is done 100% and we decided to move the lower arm another 1in. forward where the spinlde will meet, to give me some more castor at ride height..i should be at about 5-7 deg. of castor at ride height now. It was at about 3-4.

Changed that in the Jig, and got the uniball cup, and bushings mounted in the jig, drew out the lower on some poster board how i want it, and gonna cut it out of the plate Wedneday. Lowers are gonna be all Tig too. Ha
