12 inch & 40's????
4.2trimble, why are you so against this damn kit?
so it sa 12" kit, did the guy post the thread saying," i wanna climb huge hills and beat the **** out of my truck..so im going to get the rize 12" and 40's to do it." To be honest i dont think anyone would invest that much money into an IFS suspension and hardcore wheel with it. because everyone knows they are prone to breakage at some point and just arn't as bulletproof as a solid axle.
i like driving through mud here and there but i perfer my truck clean, call me a mall cruser or whatever, this weekend my truck is in a big car show in downtown chicago all weekend, it looks so pretty i dont ever want to get it dirty, ill let me stupid friends buy trucks and mess them up, i spent too much money time effort and put to much care into my truck to bring it on the trail and scratch it or dent it to try and see if i can defy gravity climbing up a 70 degree angle. It may be fun at times but if your building the truck as a daily driver you dont have hardcore wheeling in mind. And if you do then you better have deep pockets. I dont think he has ground clearance in mind or the ability to climb up high obsitcals, he wants a badass looking truck. The F-150 is really not the best ideal wheeling rig either, its very big, IFS, not a good gear ratio selection, ect ect. So not to be an *** but take the hardcore wheeling talk over the jeep forums.
Now i want to make clear im not saying NO ONE wheels with these trucks so i dont start any problems, i know there are people that do it, but 99.9% of the guys on these forums dont really hardcore wheel with there trucks. BUT there are some. If this guy wants to hardcore wheel than forget my whole post and im sorry for giving you alot to read.
get the 12" Rize its absolutly badass

get the 12" Rize its absolutly badass
I deal with this stuff on a daily basis. youve got to understand were im comin from. I really dont care what the hell he does with his truck but, with the weight of 40's on a daily driver is gonna break things period! It doesnt matter if he offroads it or not the IFS isnt up to the task of handling 40's on the street or not.
This RIZE lift isnt gonna help anything in strength either... its just a kit, it has new components and a HUGE front crossmember. Just like any other IFS lift on the market.
So my question is why is the 12" RIZE so badass? Have you ran it? Do you know anyone personally that runs it? Seriously?
And lets just say this now, my truck is more capable than an equally modded jeep. How do i know this... um my stepdad has a jeep and is running a 4.0v6 im runnin a 4.2v6. Our rigs are almost setup the exact same way except he has 4.10 gears. He will out manuver me in a narrow trail, but in mud its not even a contest and mines a DD.
Yes the F150 in stock form isnt much of a thriller but it gets the job done, throw on a little lift and 35's and you would be surprised what can come of a f150. But im past ALITTLE offroad, thats why the IFS has got to go. The truck will be more capable when im done then it ever would have been if i kept the IFS.
Im sorry guys if i hurt anyones feelings during this post but this is the forth guy to post about getting a RIZE 12" kit and 40's. I just dont think people think the whole thing though. But im geussing you have so no biggie have fun.
and for the guy complainin about the aftermarket and OEM sections. Get over it. Its been this way since ive been here. Who cares where they post it. I think you should post it were its gonna get seen and taken care of. Now if you need help finding this theres an amazing feature called SEARCH.... now lets break it down buddy S_E_A_R_C_H: to look for something... this feature allows you to type subjects in and hit enter and hooray you now are looking at pages of documents about whatever you searched.

its badass because the pure fact you can run 40's on a truck. He is spending this money not to wheel but to build a badass rig and from every truck i have seen with the 12" rize it has been BADASS. despite what other problems he has. if i see one rolling down the street the first thing that comes to my mind is that is one sick *** truck, not haha what an idiot, i bet he cant wheel with that haha....
To be honest, i dont think he will have that much trouble with that kit if it is daily drivin and the truck taken care of, if they were so horrible why would Rize sell it?
its cool you go through this on a daily basis but have you ever owned a truck and put a 12" IFS lift on it and delt with all the problems? not your buddy of friend.. you. because if you know what your doing and install the kit right and take care of it i dont think they fall apart as easy as you think.
Do you think the CV's in the front are going to break when he's driving down the road on a nice summer day in 2WD? I doubt it considering none of the front components are rotating. I have put 10K on my truck with the lift and honestly my truck as seen about 200 miles in 4WD. thats like 2% of driving time when my front components were actually rotating.
I understand the front crossmember is huge, but i dont think Rize Will put out a kit that is comeplete crap like you are making it sound.
if you didnt care what he did with his truck then stop being the nay sayer in this thread.

well i dont really think there is a diff between the 8, 10, or 12 inch rize. A lot of guy here have the rize and have not had any problems with them so i guess its just the tire part your really getting at. The problem i see with that big of a tire is the gears and crap like that. Trying to mud with 4.88s and 40s could possibly turn out bad but who knows just gotta try it right? Also i would be worried about it tearing up my tranny with all that stress put onto it. I dont wanna get into this and im not bc i already have enough **** to worry about here in iraq and dont need to make more enemies haha. For me im on both sides of this bc i wanted the 12inch rize and 40s and all that bc im going to be a street queen once i got it but i got bigger plans so my only choice is D60 w/ 5.13s bc im running 46s or 49s
i never said the kit was bad. The RIZE kit is the only one id ever even think of puttin on my truck if i had a 04+
The kit is fine. Its the truck thats gonna have the problem. Theres little to no aftermarket support for the CV Shafts, im sure you can get some chromoly shafts custom built but thats gonna be a crap load of money.
I dont think ive said anything bad about the kit besides the front crossmember is HUGE.
Im not downing RIZE im downing the IFS itself.
Now on your theory of "if its crap then they wouldnt sell it" check out whiplash suspensions ive actually had these lifts come appart driving down the road. But geuss what they still sell the hell out of them.
And yes im well aware of the 4x4 in the 04+ not moving, and the CVs wont have any trouble till 4x4 is engaged. If he never engages it then it will never have a problem with them, but why get a 4x4 then? Im sure he will lock in 4wd at least once and hopefully/most likely everything will be fine. Its gonna come down to continous use. But thats not the same for ball joints and tie rods they are gonna go out quite often but they do that on most lifted trucks anyway... just dont let them go to far it can cause a deadly problem.
and just for your guys pleasure ive dug up a 97-03 F150 with 19" of lift and 40s I know its not the setup that you will be running but it will give you a CLOSE estimate on how tall your truck will be. Its Kuntrykids truck

okay so we have established that the rize kit is a nice kit. whiplash was never brought into this thread why say something about the kit coming apart? it doesn't matter what whiplash kits do where talking about 40" tires and the rize 12" kit. not whiplash.
12" Rize
https://www.f150online.com/forums/me...s-12-rize.html
40's on 22's with some pictures of the truck droping a boat and cruzing down from a hill, nothing intense but its "off road"
https://www.f150online.com/forums/me...22-s-40-s.html
And since you brought up ball joint angles and what not ( i know this is a 2WD but ti doesn't matter they have ball joints as well.)
41's
https://www.f150online.com/forums/me...ter-today.html
now those guys took me 5 mins to find on here. and i haven't heard any horror stories about any of those trucks.

FLspeed probably has never drivin his truck as a truck, its lifted to cruise mall parking lots.
I never wished for you to break anything. im just stating the facts, you are putting 13k behind a system that WILL break if you use the truck for what you are building it for.
I could care less if you are just a pavement pounder or a weekend warrior. But the truck wont hold together. 1500 miles is NOTHING, long term stress is wait till you get to 5k 10k.
I broke my STOCK IFS, with 36's so thats got to say something.
I wasnt directing the ground clearance towards you, that was towards the other guy. Quit being so butt hurt. You havent been on here for very long.
Im blunt when i tell people things. Some people just need tuff love to get crap though their heads. You on the other hand need tuff expierences toget this though to you. Thats your deal.
Ive broke a count of 5 suspension lifts all on IFS trucks. BUT i beat the **** out of my truck. I doubt you will do that, which questions why 40's you can get the same "lifted" look from 37's.
I dont care what other people are running with jacked up ball joints they might not have any problems YET but the problems WILL come and they will be expensive. Ive went though it.
OH AND IM pretty sure FLSPEED hasnt even drivin his truck since it was lifted... i might be mistaken but im pretty sure thats what he said.
Theres too many people here that will keep there mouth shut and let someone get to thinkin his truck is bulletproof and go out and destroy it.
Im not sure if youve ever seen the damage a CV shaft coming loose will cause if its under power (4x4). And if you lose a ball joint or tierod on the road you better hang on cause a truck with that much unsprung weight is gonna roll.
Im in no means trying to be a **** but it just doesnt make sence to me.
Im sure the truck will look fine, but it wouldnt perform the way i would want it to after investing over 10k in it.
I know you are mainly/only lookin for looks and thats good for some people.

dude seriously get over it.
Yes these guys dont SAY they have problems. but do you know any of them personally?
I can tell you what brand all those lifts are, its not that complicated.
BIG ifs lifts and big tires are gonna wear down parts quickly PERIOD. Ive personally seen and helped fix damage done by over lifting. Does this mean its wrong NO but i dont want someone to get all this done then be constantly replacing things multiple times a year.
ITS TO BE EXPECTED TO REPLACE BALL JOINTS AND TIE-RODS REGULARLY WITH A LIFT AND OVERSIZED TIRES.
and lets make this f'in clear the only reason i brought up whiplash is because you think that companies wont sell people garbage when infact theres alot of companies out there just lookin to make money not to satisfy their customers.
but obviously you are clueless to what i was tryin to say so good day to you sir.

Hey Bro, You shouldn't run your mouth about stuff you don't know. I beat the **** out of everything I drive. Drive it like you stole it! I posted that I hadn't driven it yet months ago. I went out playing when I was home on R&R. Also, to say it is built to cruise mall parking lots is a jackass statement, you don't even know me or why I have this truck. You may not be trying to be a **** but you are doing a great job at it. Everyone is enttitled to there opinion, but to be an *** and try to contiously push your ideas on people is jacked up. I have owned numerous lifted trucks, and have beat the hell out of all of them, broken some parts, but hey it doesn't matter, that is what this hobby is about. There are a lot of things that I think look dumb as hell, but I keep my mouth shut. To each there own, whatever blows your skirt up. It is all about personal preferance. I don't care if I rip the whole front end out of my truck, I have the money to replace it, and would not go SAS on this truck. Like I said personal opinion.
ok man you have a hard time keepin your story straight. i just read your post from like 2 days and you said you havent even seen your truck in person since you put the lift and tires on... so what is it man.
Im not pushing my ways on anyone. Im just makin sure people understand what they are getting before the do it. Thats more than some people do. they say hey it will look great but not mention anything important.
drive it like you stole it? what are you 15?
I thank you for fightin for our freedom in the military, but you my friend are rediculous.

I kind of have to side with 4.2trimble on this. The leverage a 12 inch kit puts on the frame mounts is tremendous. My brother and I have had our share of big lifted trucks in the past. I can tell you this. The bigger lifted trucks with the 39.5's started to tear the **** out of lower control arm tabs, upper control arm tabs, the steering mounts on the frame and pretty much anything the big 12 inch kit was bolted too. That same truck, a 2500 chevy with a beefy frame, had to have all the mounting points re-welded with some really thick metal plates to stop the bending and cracking.
Now I am not saying don't go big. If you do go big remember that your truck is going to start to fall apart from the stress of the kit on your truck. If you think other wise you most likely haven't driven a 12inch lifted truck for years on twisty highways in the mountains.
my 2 cents
