12 inch & 40's????
The lift isnt whats causing the CV's to snap. Its the weight of the 40" tires. My 36's weigh over 100#'s what do you think those 40's are gonna weigh in at?
D60's have a hard enough time staying together with the stress of 44's on a continous basis. The half ton 8.8 is gonna snap things on the way to the grocery store.
Not sure why you think SAS looks rediculous? Its the same thing F250's 350's and so on are set up... oh well.
I do hope you take this thing offroad, honestly i do. Its gonna break and your gonna have 13K worth of nothing.
some people have to learn the hard way.
and yes IFS can achive SLIGHTLY more ground clearance do to the arched design of the front crossmember but with the RIZE 12" kit this just isnt true. The thing is HUGE and will catch up on almost anything you try to go over offroad. If you mud it will drag in the mud.
Dirtbound bought this to covert his 8" to a 12" and then decided agianst it when the crossmember came in.

I would never wish $13k worth of damage on anybody regardless of my thoughts on what they were doing. That's just f-ed up dude!!
I realize that the F250/350's are running the SAS and that doesn't change the fact that I don't like how they look. It's ok that you do and I'm not hating on you for doing so. We're all entitled to our opinions and mine just happens to be opposite of yours in this department. Not sure why you're worried about what I think about the looks of an SAS either.
I didn't say anything about the Rize 12" getting more clearance because of the arched front crossmember. All I said was that it looked better than other IFS systems because of that arch.
I'm not the first person to do this lift...remember that...FLspeed will attest that he has 1500 milles on this lift so far on an older truck than mine. He has 40x15.5's too which will outweigh my 40x13.5's by more than a couple pounds. Nothing has broken on his yet and he's not running the Camburgs. Not sure but all your insight seems like pure speculation.
No hard feelings bro...just thought I'd point a few things out
FLspeed probably has never drivin his truck as a truck, its lifted to cruise mall parking lots.
I never wished for you to break anything. im just stating the facts, you are putting 13k behind a system that WILL break if you use the truck for what you are building it for.
I could care less if you are just a pavement pounder or a weekend warrior. But the truck wont hold together. 1500 miles is NOTHING, long term stress is wait till you get to 5k 10k.
I broke my STOCK IFS, with 36's so thats got to say something.
I wasnt directing the ground clearance towards you, that was towards the other guy. Quit being so butt hurt. You havent been on here for very long. Im blunt when i tell people things. Some people just need tuff love to get crap though their heads. You on the other hand need tuff expierences toget this though to you. Thats your deal.
Ive broke a count of 5 suspension lifts all on IFS trucks. BUT i beat the **** out of my truck. I doubt you will do that, which questions why 40's you can get the same "lifted" look from 37's.
I dont care what other people are running with jacked up ball joints they might not have any problems YET but the problems WILL come and they will be expensive. Ive went though it.
OH AND IM pretty sure FLSPEED hasnt even drivin his truck since it was lifted... i might be mistaken but im pretty sure thats what he said.
Theres too many people here that will keep there mouth shut and let someone get to thinkin his truck is bulletproof and go out and destroy it.
Im not sure if youve ever seen the damage a CV shaft coming loose will cause if its under power (4x4). And if you lose a ball joint or tierod on the road you better hang on cause a truck with that much unsprung weight is gonna roll.
Im in no means trying to be a **** but it just doesnt make sence to me.
Im sure the truck will look fine, but it wouldnt perform the way i would want it to after investing over 10k in it.
I know you are mainly/only lookin for looks and thats good for some people.

Not "butt hurt" at all man.....just calling you out for what you said.
40's and a 12" is alot bigger than 37's and 8" or 10" in my opinion. I'm choosing to go with what i am because not too many people have it. My truck will never be put in the mudd or jumped in the dunes or any of that. The most offroading it will see is driving on the beach. It's a pavement pounder and that's all it will ever be. I plan on having to fix stuff along the way and by no means think my truck will be anywhere near bulletproof.
44's and D60's don't make alot of sense to me but it has nothing to do with me. This IS America so you can do whatever you want sir!
I'll be sure and keep you posted of my progress and all the stuff I break along the way so you can get your chuckles out it.

Thats pretty sweet can wait too see when its done. Prob will break **** but hey who cares right ? So screw it haha. Yeah when i get back from Iraq im doing a solid axle swap with kings all around and 46s possible 49s its gonna be pretty freaking sweet.
The one thing i like about IFS is that rize looks sooo bad *** and sweet. Especially if you throw some kings in there too. So do what you want and keep us posted on how things go before and after
Are you going to post this in every forum here or what? Really dude its not that big of a damm deal

this section gets more responses anywho.
I sent the mods a note about moving this stuff and locking threads. I think they don't feel it's there Job or don't dare do anything. We all expect them to move stuff and lock threads and ban people. Never Happens. They are putting a few things forward with the site administrator. Hope it resolves things because stuff is all over the place.
4.2trimble, why are you so against this damn kit?
so it sa 12" kit, did the guy post the thread saying," i wanna climb huge hills and beat the **** out of my truck..so im going to get the rize 12" and 40's to do it." To be honest i dont think anyone would invest that much money into an IFS suspension and hardcore wheel with it. because everyone knows they are prone to breakage at some point and just arn't as bulletproof as a solid axle.
i like driving through mud here and there but i perfer my truck clean, call me a mall cruser or whatever, this weekend my truck is in a big car show in downtown chicago all weekend, it looks so pretty i dont ever want to get it dirty, ill let me stupid friends buy trucks and mess them up, i spent too much money time effort and put to much care into my truck to bring it on the trail and scratch it or dent it to try and see if i can defy gravity climbing up a 70 degree angle. It may be fun at times but if your building the truck as a daily driver you dont have hardcore wheeling in mind. And if you do then you better have deep pockets. I dont think he has ground clearance in mind or the ability to climb up high obsitcals, he wants a badass looking truck. The F-150 is really not the best ideal wheeling rig either, its very big, IFS, not a good gear ratio selection, ect ect. So not to be an *** but take the hardcore wheeling talk over the jeep forums.
Now i want to make clear im not saying NO ONE wheels with these trucks so i dont start any problems, i know there are people that do it, but 99.9% of the guys on these forums dont really hardcore wheel with there trucks. BUT there are some. If this guy wants to hardcore wheel than forget my whole post and im sorry for giving you alot to read.
get the 12" Rize its absolutly badass
