2.5" Leveling PROBLEMS!!

OK so I have a 2005 Screw 4x4 LAriat, with the 8 inch rize kit. I bought a 2.5 inch leveling kit from top gun customs last week. Dropped it off at the shop today to have it installed, and after all day they tell me they cannot do it. The said my brake lines were too short, it just wouldnt fit, the angles were all way off, etc etc etc. Has anyone else heard of this?? or did I just find some guys who know nothing about trucks

i would only do a 2" leveling kit with your 8" rize. brake lines to short, possible your are making your truck taller and farthher from brakes so you can't blame the leveling kit on that. the angles can't be any worse than a stock truck with a 2 1/2" kit. your angles are parallel to the ground just with the 8" right? my guess is your truck guy is stupid, but your brake lines might need to be extended

they probly were, if they were they should be fine, where did you buy your kit? some online places don't include brake lines but everyone i have heard with a rize has extended lines installed. just because they gave new lines does not mean they were extended enough for 2 1/2" more take your truck to another shop and have them check it out and see what they say. there is no reason you can't add the 2 1/2" spacer on it like the guy you took your truck to said

I'm no genius, but you could get longer brake lines.

It's true that stacking a 2.5" leveling kit on top of a 6" lift could create bad angles.

I'm not a big fan of stacking a leveling kit onto a suspension lift kit. You could get more height with a body lift on top of a suspension lift. If you have adjustable coilovers, then you can crank them up 2".
