Tires and logic

OK so I am working on a lift setup for my truck. I am considering the Rize 6 or 8 inch system. What I am wondering is what size "usable" Tires can I get away with? I do use the truck off road, and would like the clearance of the larger tires but don't want to stuff them under the fenders in the more silly situations. I have the stockers on there now, and have hit the bump stops almost every time I have gone out playin with the Lads. So that is when i decided to lift it up bit. The current System I am looking at is the Rize 6inch 4link long travel kit, with new springs in the rear.

I also hear a lot about steering geometry and was wondering if there is much difference in the 6 inch and 8 when it comes to geometry? Do you get the same with each, or is one better then the other.

Thanks in advance for the replys.

I think the 6 inch and 37's would be a good combo on a SD. If you want to go larger, I'd go with the 8 inch kit.

The lift states that with a 6 inch you can only fit upto a 35. If you want the 37s you need to go with the 8 inch. I am just wondering home much more clearance your really geting, I would assume 2 inches.

Long travel kit?
You know that the Rize kit just uses a huge bracket with your stock coil-over units, right?
You don't gain any wheel travel in the front, you'll still be hitting the bump stops if you are now.
If you're stuffing the tires off-road, go with 35's. Unless you are okay with cutting out the inside of the fenders a bit.
I would go with a 6" fab tech with adjustable coil-overs before the Rize kit any day.

Yes we are talking F250, and the Long Travel is on there site, not sure what a long travel kit really is for the F250. I have a Manx that has a true long travel kit on it. Not sure this is the same thing.

Yeah Pro Comp says 35's for the 6" and 37's for the 8" or the 06's. I'd think it would be the same for all companies. Don't know what to tell you about the difference between all the companies kits though

i would go 8" and 37's, 6" lifted f250's don't look to big IMO just because of their overall size to begin with

Check w/ Rize about recommended wheel & tire specs. They must recommend a certain size to work with their kit. Most 6" kits suggest 17" X 8.5" wheels w/ up to 5" of backspace, and 35X12.50/17 tires.

Remember that bigger tires doesn't mean more traction or better off-road performance.

unerstood with that last comment. I have always understood that to be the higher the pumkins get off the deck with larger tyres. So I think the 35s will work. if you search on the ole, youtube.com for my screen name you will see the stuff we spend time doing with the trucks.
