I think a general rule people go by is that the 04-08 body style uses the 2" kit to level and earlier models use the 2.5" kit. You should be fine with a 2", though.

Since leveling kits all serve the same purpose, try this one:
$10 cheaper

The seller had it to me in four days. Mine goes in this Thursday.

I've got an 05' FX4 and the 2" AS leveled it perfectly. If you go with the 2.5" you might need to do an AAL.

it all varies truck to truck, i read somewhere that the 06-08 trucks have 1 less spring.
04-05 2.5"
06-08 2"
i would find a flat surface and measure though to be safe.

I have an 04 scab 2wd it measures 6.5 inches in the back and 4" in the front from top of tire to fenderwell, Is it still recommended to go with the 2 or 2.5, seeing that any weight in the back would make the back squat or bulldog.

If you still have your original factory shocks, they're toast by now. You may want to consider getting Bilstein 5100 shocks/struts. This way you're killing two birds with one stone. The 5100's also level your truck 2".

Are you inferring they are toast because of the leveling kit or am I missing something?

They're toast because his truck is a 2005. Mine were completely done with 40k miles, but that was when I noticed. They could be compressed as easily as closing a telescope, and once compressed, they stayed that way. One was also leaking. Many others on this board will tell you about their shocks being finished with much less miles on their trucks. It's nature of the beast I guess, but the stock shocks are junk.

Actually, I noticed earlier than that. For about the last year I didn't like how bouncy the back end was, especially with some gear in the bed and towing a light boat. Over the last few months I found the truck to be very loose over bumps as well.

Getting to actually see the shocks when they came out proved why.

Ah gotcha!

I thought you were trying to say the AS kits would ruin his shocks. I was thinking "this guy's nuts." That's not a bad point to go ahead and replace them if they go bad that fast. I thought about getting the Bilsteins but for now just went with the leveling kit. Thanks for the heads up, though!

leveling kit but does not compress the shock move it between the shock table and the truck if I understand it on their website.

Yep, the level kit (AKA coil spring spacer) goes in between the shock's top and the "cap"... You'll have no problems doing it if you follow thier instructions. They are very detailed. Check this out: https://www.f150online.com/forums/su...t-install.html
