Shocks Question

I have an 04 150 Screw, i was thinking of replacing the shocks once i came back from deployment, but i've never really done alot of work on vehicles before. Is it as simple as removing the old one and putting the new ones in? Do i need anything special, i.e. a lift or something, or can i do it while it's on the ground? I appreciate anyone's help. Thanks

the rear shocks can be done easily just unbolt then bolt in the new ones.. the front is tricky,
you have to take out the whole shock use a spring compressor take out the inner shock bolt in the new one and put it back together.. to do that you will need to lift up the front end and take the tire off

Right, the rear is easy, but the front is more involved due to the coilover shock design.
