Body Lift etc...
Well... I really do love my stock wheels, but I if I keep them, I'll have to spend about 500 more on tires, just b/c its a 20" rim... 4wheelparts has the tires I want MT ATZ 35x1250R20's for like $350 a pop. I can probly borrow some money from my brother to get tires, but will more than likely just keep the stock tires on there for the time being if I keep the stock wheels. Correct me if Im wrong, but would I get better gas mileage w/ a smaller rim? I took my wheel off one day and it nearly killed me.... I helped my buddy the other day take his Excursion's wheel off and I could pick up w/ one hand and he had 33X1250R16's on the stock rims... so wouldnt a smaller (lighter) rim give me better mileage? Im just curious. Oh, and help me settle a bet w/ my brother does ANYBODY know what a gondola is? WITHOUT LOOKING IT UP!! lol
Im assuming the gondola you are referring to is a small Italian boat.

The wheel isnt gonna affect MPG enough to tell. Yes different wheels weight different amounts but when you go to a smaller wheel you get more rubber all in all they balance out.
My 36x12.5x16" Super Swamper TSL's on stock steel wheels weighted 115#'s Thats not very light

Oh right, didnt pay attention to the width, they would probably rub on the control arm being that wide. My 35x12.5 Pro comps are about 1/4-1/2" away from the control arm. Thats the cheapest ATZ I could find in a 20" rim. You might be able to find someone that will trade you your 20's for smaller 18's or 17's. Tires are usually cheaper in those smaller sizes.
yeah... I know NCSU_05FX4 (I think that's his name) has some 18's or did... I might contact him... would I still be able to safely run 35X1250's? I know some guys do it anyways, but that 7.5" wide rim would worry me some :/ Does anyone know the width of the OEM 20's? 9"?
I was originally going to run my 35x12.5's on the OEM 18x7.5's and the tire shop said it wouldn't be a problem. Plenty of people do it and w/out issue
I believe the OEM 20's are 8" wide. If not then they are 8.5's but I am 90% sure they are 8's.
Hit the classifieds and I am sure you will find someone willing to trade you their 18's or 17's for your 20'S. You might even be able to get some cash out of it too.
My 35x12.5x18 MTZ's ran me something like $1200 total....just to give you an idea of what you're getting into

OOPS......
I meant to type ATZ's
I got them from 4wheelparts though a few months ago when they had them on sale. I also got a mail-in rebate for a $100 gift card. I think all totaledit was $1150 to be more accurate.

yeah, I dunno... I might just try and sell my OEM 20's and use that to buy some Mickey Thompson rims. I can go w/ a 17" rim, just no lower b/c of the brake caliper and other parts, right? Im in a dilemma between keeping my stock rims and tires for the time being, or selling/trading for OEM 18's or MT 17's and buying 35X1250's.
