Well im about to leave. You never gave specs.

But ill create you a senario.

If you are 4wd.

Id get a lift that will clear 35's this way you wont have to regear (you can) but you wont have to.

6" Fabtech is an excellent choice for a suspension lift

OR

3" Performance Accessories Body Lift.

Both will clear 35's

If you do have a 4x4 you could crank the torsion bars to level the truck and then run 33's.

Lift size has nothing to do with regearing, tire size does. So determine what size tires you want before you figure out how much lift you will need to clear them.

6"lift on 35's, basic amount of lift and tire size for mainly every lifted truck on the site.

I'd recommend the Fabtech or RCD lift and some 35's. Those are probably the two best lifts for our trucks.

i have the RCD lift, and couldnt be happier...... it is expensive, but i believe you get what you pay for.

those here that have installed body lifts have siad it is a major PITA with the new style trucks. if you dont want to install one yourself, then you would be paying at least 500 for the install, plus the 300 or so for the body lift..... at that point you might as well just pay a couple hundred more and buy a susp. lift, and install it yourself.

Your logic doesnt make sence... If someone doesnt want to install a body lift theirselves what makes you think they will want to install the suspension lift their selves?

Point being, price for lift + price for install the body lift will be cheaper. He doesnt want anything too much. Thats why a body lift was recommened.

The Fabtech, RCD and BDS (if you can find one) are great kits for our trucks.

But for the complete kit you are looking upwards of $1,800 and thats for the kit with rear blocks not new springs.

I do however agree with you if you pay to install of a body lift makes it not worth it. If i couldnt install a body lift myself i would never get one, it ruins the point of doing it. Its not worth 1k dollars.

Luckly you have a 97-03 these trucks are easy enough to install a body lift on.

Now 04-08 good luck, here in Florida most shops wont even do them. And if they do you better break out the wallet. You can always find shops with down time and willing to make a deal.

Crank your torsion bars and get some 285s. Save your money until you can do a suspension lift.
