AAL Install question

AAL Install question
I just bought a ProComp AAL and I need to know a little something about installing it. My 08 FX4 Screw has C looking brackets on either end of the existing spring. Judging from the length, the new springs will extend past those brackets. Anybody know how to remove these things? They look like they have a pressure fit bolt holding them in place from the bottom. Anybody got any info for me?

All you members out there that have installed an AAL and nobody willing to give a fellow member any info?
C'mon guys......please?!
Also, what do I do about the urethane tabs at the ends of the springs? The existing ones extend out below to where they will interfere with the new springs. The new spring came with them but do I really need to install them? The reason I ask is because one of them was damaged during shipping. Anybody know where to get replacements?
Thanks in advance

ok heres how i did mine. i had BDS AAL. jack up the truck supporting the frame. then jack up the rear axle to relieve some pressure. put c-clamps on the leaf's. then u do the u bolts. after pulling off the u-bolts slowly let off the pressure the c clamps are holding. once you have relieved all pressure (c clamps will be able to come off) add the new leaf (pack it with grease) then use c clamps to tighten leaves back up. put u-bolts on and your good to go. the "brackets" i think your refering to, you do not put your new leaf into. im gonna go take a photo for you of what mine looks like.
thats what i remember from doing mine. its been a few months tho. if you have any questions let me know.

06yz you've got it installed incorrectly and it actually looks like you got the aal for the 4 leaf setup and yours is a 3 leaf, or it's in backwards. All of the leaves should be flush together and you have it under your spring clip. You guys are talking about 2 separate pieces. The original answer is the spring clip and what 06yz referred to was the tip insert or squeak pad. In order to install a long aal you need to bend the clips out with a pipe wrench and then once you get your aal installed correctly you just hit the clips back in place with a hand sledge or if you have a smaller hammer then you'll have to heat up the clip to bend it back. Many aal kits will come with after market clips so you can just rid rid of the factory ones but if not then do it as I stated above.

I know my AAL is as long as 06yz250f's and it didn't come with new clips. I understand that I have to bend the clip to get it off but what I don't understand is how it is fastened. Is it just pressure fitted on the sides or does that little piece in the bottom center of it actually hold it in? If that center peice has something to do with it then how do I go about reusing the factory clips when my AAL doesn't have a hole for it? Do I really need to use those clips? What will happen if I don't have them on there?

kansasjoe, we followed the instructions. and the box/ number said it was for my truck. i double checked when i bought them. the added leaf is supposed to be shorter than the 2 long ones and longer than the short helper spring.
i added below the instructions dealing w/ AAL. mine are installed correctly. the leafs said front and rear, so unless some moron had stamped the opposite it should have been mine are right.
