AAL Install question
You can cut them down on the vehicle but spring steel is very hard to cut with something such as a sawzall. Much easier if you could take it out and cut it with a chop saw but then you'll probably need to replace the center bolts again. You will also be cutting off the section with the tip insert so you'd have to grind the nipple off of the pad and hope the pressure holds it but most aal's don't have the squeak pads anyways. I would call BDS and tell them your situation and see if they have an aal for the 3 leaf setup and tell them your aal from them is directly underneath the spring clip.
i called BDS and they said its installed correctly, they weren't aware of a change it sounded like from the 04-05 to 06-08 leafs but he said because new leafs on vehicles have dual center pins that their should not be a problem. i asked him about cutting them down, he said since they are functioning properly that there is no reason to cut them down. he also said due to the dual center pins their is no reason to really have those clamps on leafs any more so sitting below it is not bad at all. so i did install them correctly. he said he was going to pass along the information to some board that deals with stuff and see what they had to say about it but assured me they were safe and installed properly

I just ran into the same problem today installing a pro comp aal on an 06 F150 2wd. The AAL is the shortest leaf so it goes under the spring clip. I called Pro Comp and they said its fine for it to be hitting the spring clip. Looks funny to me though. How has yours held up?
