Exclamation

From what I have read on this forum Skyjacker is not the best...

As far as 3 inch lifts go not to sure who all makes them.

I know that Rancho makes a 4 inch which I have thought about doing.

Otherwise... For almost the same amount of lift AutoSpring is the way to go!!

Here's my truck with a 2.5 inch AS Spacer and 3 inch AS Rear Block...

In time that will come out for either the Rancho 4 inch or Procomp 6 inch!!

AirAid modular intake tube, K&N filter, Magnaflow Exhaust, Line-X'd bed and fender wells, 2.5 Inch AS Level Kit and 3 inch AS Rear Block, 1 Mile range Viper 5900 SST remote start and alarm system, JL Audio Stealthbox, JL Audio 500/1, JL Audio 300/4, Alpine Type-R 6.5 inch components in front doors, Alpine Type-R 5x7's in rear doors, Alpine Iva-w505, LOTS of Dynamat, 15% Tinted windows, Billet Grills in factory H-bar and lower bumper.

If you only want 3", body lift may be in order. If you want a true suspension lift, 4" Rancho.

I wouldn't recommend the 3 inch Skyjacker lift. I'd suggest you either go with a 2.5 inch leveling kit.

I was just about to post an update on this matter on a thread I started a few weeks ago. I bought the skyjacker 3" a couple years ago when it was sold as a coilover replacement in the front. I am just now getting around to putting it on and I looked up some stuff on it and found out they redesigned it. I called skyjacker and they said the kit is now sold as a strut replacement in the front, and it does have an optional ring you can put in there- w/ the ring you get the full 3" lift, w/o it you get 2.5", plus the kit comes w/ rear lift components.

I asked what was wrong w/ the old style and he said nothing really, but that the new style w/ just the strut replacement would be a more comfortable 'factory like' ride quality. I asked if the old coilover setup would cause problems and harmful wear and tear on my truck's parts and he said that it would not. But he offered for me to trade my old kit that has never been installed for the new style kit and said I would like it a lot better.

I am still working on that case, they are trying to arrange it through the company I bought it from apparently.

3" is too much without drop brackets. Stay with a 2.5 inch LC or jump to a real suspension lift.

as was mentioned, your options are a 2-2.5'' leveling kit, a body lift, or a full suspension lift. don't cheap out on a POS 3'' lift that will mess up your front end geometry. Doing so will make your truck eat through cv boots, possibly the entire cv shaft, ball joints, etc.

for what you will spend on a 4" rancho you can get a 6" fabtech.

only advantage to the rancho IMO is you can keep stock wheels which i am a huge fan of lifted trucks and stock rims

i dont know why that lifts 2k on the website unless the kit now includes shocks. you can find the rancho for about 1500 before shocks.

i got cleared to trade my uninstalled skyjacker f4301 kit for the new style they manufacture now. i'm going to install it and enjoy it...it will just be new struts on the front, add a leaf in the rear. hopefully things will go fine and i'll keep an eye on everything, but i still can't find any negative experiences online from anyone on google or anywhere.

I would recommend going with either a 2"-2.5" Leveling kit, if your looking to lift your truck just a bit, while on a budget.

3.5" Fabtech Spindle Lift w/fab replacement shocks is what i have on my 01 with 1"block in the back. Its perfect, not to tall like 6" lifts, so you can still haul *** on curvy roads and turns. Put some AT BFG Tires for better Grip and you will have a lot of fun with your truck.
