04+ 4x2 and 4x4 coilovers the same?

Need to know if '04+ 4x2 and 4x4 coilovers are the same? Or are the 4x4 one taller.

Found some 4x4 coilover takeoffs and would like to put them on my 4x2 if they will give me a little lift.

My question, was are they a different height? Will it raise my truck if I put 4x4 coilovers in my 4x2?

The 4x4 OEM struts are about 2" taller than 4x2. Also the bottom portion of the 4x4 strut shaft is thinner for axle clearance. The only concern I would have is the spring rate compared between the two. Should be OK tho.

Cool, So it will raise the nose 2" like a leavling kit and give a bit stiffer ride

Will this setup change balljoint angles like a level kit will?

Because I can pick up a set from a '07 FX4 with 20 miles on them for $50 bucks!

Wink Frame are unique 4x2 - 4x4 on P221

Your truck is a 4x2 and has a 4x2 frame assembly. The shock tower and upper and lower control arm attachments are not the same. If you simply bolt on a 4x4 shock/spring assembly you will not be happy with outcome. Your steering pivots will not accept the new heights.
Better to buy what is correct for your truck or put on an approved leveling kit. The operative work here is "Kit" It will contain the correct number of adjustable parts to do it right.

Good luck
