I am confused by this post....my 2006 crewcab truck with 22's and low profile tires gets 12.5mpg average. No heavy foot at all. With my winter tires (33's MT) on my stock 18" wheels I get 9MPG AVERAGE! All I have is intake and exhaust.

I have no lift! So when I get a 8" lift and 35's I'll be getting 5MPG????? How do you get 12.5 average on 33's!?!?!?

I've got 12" of lift on 38s with stock gearing and I'm getting about the same as my stock MPG (around 13) all I did was get a diablo sport tuner and that thing worked its magic. Apparently some people here don't believe that its possible to accomplish such a thing...but its happening somehow. Although I'm thinking about stepping up to the high octane tune just for giggles. By the way, are you thinking about going with the Rize kit? I'd personally say you should look into at least 37s for 8" of lift so then if you go bigger within a couple more years down the road you won't have to worry about buying new tires before your old ones wear down.

Anyway I now have an 03 2wd Lariat Screw, all stock but I hope to do a 6 inch lift and put some 35's on it around Christmas. I've never lifted a 2wd, can anyone recommend a brand name?
Why the fawk would you put 14 shocks on that poor truck?

lol it may have been a bit excessive, but I wanted the shock hoop in the front and since I had so many up there I had to balance it out in the back!

I have 22's with 37's and stock 3:73 gearing. I average 13 mpg not running the truck hard. If I run it fairly hard I drop down to 9 mpg. This is calculating how many miles I got to the amount of gallons I put in the truck, not by reading what the dash says. Dash reads 13.5mpg. On interstate i'll get 14.5mpg as long as I don't go over 75mph. Intown I'll get 12.5mpg as long as I don't take off from red lights like I'm in a race. I pulled a 20' Bullet Bass Boat on tandem axle trailer 300 miles on interstae and gor 10.5mpg.

Those of you saying you got the same mileage on stock gears with 37+ tires, did you account for the fact that your speedo is off, and thus, your mileage/distance traveled reading is way off as well? I'm finding it a bit of a stretch that you pulled that sort of mileage on stock gearing with tires that big. I was getting around 8 or 9ish on average with 3.55 gears and 38's for the 2 weeks before I regeared. I was getting around 13mpg on 33's with a 6" lift, and I'm getting around 12 now with the 4.88s and 37's.

IMO the Ballistic Jester would look good on your truck w/ the red in them. Not sure if you're looking for a chrome or black wheel, but believe you can get either w/ the red.
