i know that Pimprohr had both the auto spring and the new designed daystar that attaches to the top of coil just like the daystar. maybe he'll chime in. the AS is under 100 bucks depending on size and the daystar is $129 from what i've seen.

I've been running the old style Daystar poly kit for the last 3 years with no problems. It required a spring compresser to install which is a lot tougher than the AS or new Daystar designs to install. I think the plastic on metal rides a little smoother, only difference.

I have the AS kit. I did the install myself. Took about 1 1/2 hours and was very easy to do. If you go to the AS web site it will give you a link to an ebay auction. The cost is $69 with free shipping

AS kit all the way! Very easy install, steel, bolts right to top of shock assembly. What is not to love?

You can pick them up on ebay pretty cheap. I bought the 2" AS and the install was a breeze. On those rocky mountain spacers above, the area where it bolts to the top of the shock assembly looks pretty thin.

that pic is of a daystar although it is not the model for our f150's. the daystar for the f150 is solid poly. does not have those gaps like in the pic. looks like a hockey puck. basically the same as the AS just poly instead of steel. i went with the daystar (new style that mounts on top of the strut, same as the AS) for the same reason that pawpaw did, poly over steel.
