Loweing the back end

Hey guys,I have been on the site for awhile just soaking up the info of the members on here.. Thanks for the good info and place to hang.

I have a quick question though.. I have an 05 Lariat 2wd quad cab f150.. I have 22" on it and I just want to have the back even with the front end.. So I am wanting to use a shackle kit on rear to lower it. What kits are you guys using?? I also haul a 350 pd quad in the back..Will I have enough clearance still??

Thanks for any help

Jason

You would need to lower the back end about 2" to level it out. How much room do you have in the wheel wells with your current rim/tire combo?

I am running 30/45/22 and I would say I have about 7 in in the rear

I have an 07 screw but mines a 4x4. I have 305/45-22 on mine and all I did to level it out a little is take out the rear 2" blocks. Since yours is 2wd I think you only have one inch blocks in the back. I'd try removing those first, it won't cost you anything, and it takes a half hour to do. Then you can decide if you want to lower it more and spend the money to do so.

This is a pretty good idea, 1" might be enough to look good to you plus its more or less free

i dont think they had blocks in regular 05 trucks, i thought they started doing blocks on Harleys/FX2s packages
I could be wrong tho.

You will loose some payload with shackles, but you should be able to handle a single quad pretty easily.
