Problem! Lower Control Arm

Okay first off i have a 98 f150 with a 6 inch fabtech and 35s. And I have been noticing lately that my front right shock keeps coming loose because the bolt going through the bottom of the shock keeps coming loose. So I took the truck to a local shop and he pointed out that where my shock connects to the lower control arm, that little piece on the control arm is snapped in half. Just wanting to know if thats going to be an expensive repair?

All the 4x4s form 97 to 04 heritage have cast iron lower control arms. If you can find someone who can weld cast get it welded. If not you need either a new lower arm or to figure a way to mount a shock with a custom bracket bolted to the lower arm.

Unhappy

okay thanks but the man showed me where it looked like someone had tried to weld there before and he said they probably wouldnt be able to weld again. Do you know about how much a new lower control arm might cost me?

I would do a search of the bone yards. Try http://car-part.com/ and fill in the blanks. Somewhere in the vicinity of $150.00 should cover it.
