leveling kit or shocks

ok so ive heard that leveling kits put your ball sockets at bad angles and that shocks will lift your truck the same and are better

im looking for about 2.5 front lift
what is less wear on the truck and a more comfortable ride? if shocks, which ones specfically?

thanks

any time you lift the front of the truck without droping the cross members you change the ball joint angle. in other words, shocks or spacer, both will have the exact same effect on your angles.

But, you get a better ride/handling and less complications than with a leveling kit.

You get a better shock with the Rancho's or Bilstiens but I don't know about less complications. The installation is actually gonna be slightly easier with an Autospring leveling kit. The ball joint angles are gonna wind up being the same.

By "complications" I meant that some people with the leveling kits have been having issues with the control arm hitting the spring.

id go with new shocks personally.

any shock that has the ability to lift the truck will offer a better ride just because of the time and research spent developing it and it never hurts to replace stock shocks anyway.

If I had a brand new truck, I'd go with the leveling kit. If the truck is a few years old and has some miles, the oem shocks probably need replacing so you might as well go that route.

Most people here have the Bilstiens. On a 4x4, you can fit 35x12.50's using the oem wheels or 33's using wider aftermarket wheels with the Rancho, Bilstien or a leveling kit.
