Getting Ready to Order the AS Kit...

Ordering the leveling kit tonight and just trying to decide on the 2" or 2.5". Just went and measured for the 3rd time and came up with about a 3.5-4" difference between front and rear. This is making me lean towards the 2.5" kit. I know this has been beat to death, but was it determined that the 2.5" kit is not to much for the front suspension and CVs? If so that is the way I will be going.

I have a 2005 SCab 4x4, so the rake is already more than the newer trucks. And it is pretty dang noticeable.

There are plenty out there that have the 2.5" just like myself. Zero issues. Unless you are using 4x4 on a frequent basis you should be okay.

My 06' Scab need the AAL as I can tell the front sits slightly higher.

Thanks for the reply. What's the issue with 4 wheel drive? It doesnt get used often, but when I need it I dont want to have to worry about anything.

2.5AS 9,234 no issues love it, I also have a AS 4" block for the rear, I took out my 2" factory and the rear sits about 1" higher than the front, but that is how I wanted it. I have bfg a/t 325/60/20= 35.6

yes, I took out the factory 2" block and installed a autospring 4" block, call and ask the people at autospring to make you a 4" block, I dont think they list it, but they will make it for you

I recently installed the 2" and went back and forth on which one to get. Look at my pics and you can see the before and after as I'm happy I went with the 2. Granted I have a Reg. Cab so the rake may be a bit more noticeable. You will likely get a bit more than the advertised lift and even if it measures the same from wheel well to wheel well it may actually appear to be higher in the front. If you tow or haul anything it will surely be lower in the back and you may have to add a leaf or taller block to level it again. Beyond that you are pushing your limits on your suspension angles with either of the kits and the 2" was all that I was comfortable with. I have pics of the before and after of that as well.

SunnDogg that looks great. Did you take any measurements before and after by any chance?

Not only is yours a reg cab, but it is post-06. The 04-05 trucks seemed to have a higher rake from the factory than the newer trucks. Thats why I was lea ning towards the 2.5

I took measurements but don't have the exact numbers in front of me. I beleive it was 36.5 and 36.75 (ground to fender through the center of the wheel) in the front before the install and 39 and 39.25 after. The back was 40" on both sides. I think if I went with the 2.5 it would "look" higher in the front even though it measured the same. It all depends on your preference and what sized tire you want to fit, but I think there is a definitely a difference between how it measures and how it looks.
