ok guys

ok so i was ready to order my stuff this comming monday but i got some new information and i need a little help here. ok so one of my buddies has a 2000 chev 1500 and he has a 6+3 and i always thought he had it regeared but he told me today he doesnt and he gets a lil better than 12 miles to the gallon. hes got 38's and the pro comp extreme all terrain. so im jw if i dont regear right now what will i get with a 38" all terrain tire? im for sure regearing later down the road, probobally right b4 hunting season. so jw wat u think ill get for millage if i drive nice without regearing and 38"s ?

You might be able to do alright on highway. I think you should be able to do as good as your buddy. I get about 16-17 on the highway if i keep it to about 60-65. I have 36 iroks and according to the specs they are 36.8 which is pretty much a 37" tire.
Josiah claims he gets up to 19 with his 37's and his stock 3.73's. The tall gear will actually help your highway mileage.

Just have to drive like a grandma on the streets.

some food for thought: my buddy has an 03 w/ 6''+3'' on 38's, and he didn't regear. he wound up fuking the transmission. so, unless you are a fan of getting a rebuild ~$2000, you probably want to regear. he didn't regear after he rebuilt the transmission, so sure enough, its on its way to being fuked again, and he has told me he believes it is.

i also believe Josiah posted once that he believes his transmission is going to be done soon as well.

x2 on that. The main reason for gears is to take the stress off the transmission, and regain lost power.

your gas mileage is the least of your worries!

i would not order from them... theres a girl here that got totally owned by them and i said that id never recommend them to anyone.

Id say order from Alon at MODBARGINS or crash_lucky13

if not them then just order from 4wheelparts.com they dont have the best prices but i have NEVER had any problems with them!

but yes it looks like it comes with shocks! it says comes with 2 set of 2 pair of shocks!

You know what my problem was, an incredibly worn out u-joint on my driveshaft. But that's not to say my transmission is doing so hot. The shifting has felt sluggish for the past 10k miles. Who knows, just know I'll keep you all updated.
