Bilsteins or Leveling Kit?

While I was thinking 2" would be better 1" would work. I think 2" in the front with 1" in the back would give me a decent amount of life and also keep a slight rake, oddly enough I actually prefer the look of the rake over a completely leveled truck

I do too.. Nearly every leveled truck I have seen looks like the *** is draggin' Not really my idea of a proper setup.
The Bilstein's seem to provide everything. Raise the front 2.. the back 1.. Nearly perfect look overall.. Plenty of room for bigger tires and an improved ride to boot!

Yeah the more I think about it this seems like the way to go. Get fresh shocks, lift & better ride all from 1 product. Priced under $400 is very reasonable IMO. I just wish I had the grunt to turn 35's with some authority. I know before I am happy with how it runs with 35"s I will have to regear and that will get very costly

Hey Jimc....
If > shocks don't lift < how do they accomplish a 0" to 2" lift in the front with these shocks ???
And one more thing; Does anybody have the exact Bilstein model number for these adjustable height shocks, for an F150, 2wd, 4.6L, XLT reg. cab ? My local offroad parts place is having a hard time finding these shocks. Although he told me he would talk directly to Bilstein, and get back to me....

If you look at a stock shock, it has a ledge on the outside of the tube that the spring perch sits on. With the Bilsteins, there is a snap ring that fits into one of three groves machined into the shock tube. 1st groove is stock height, 2nd is +1", and 3rd is +2". By moving the spring perch up and installing the spring is where you actually get the lift.

the spring is what supports the front of the truck. 04+ use a coil over which is a coil spring that slides over a strut. the coil spring is mounted on the body of the strut. raise or lower the mounting position of the spring, and you raise or lower the front of the truck. to get a better idea, go out and crawl under your truck and take a look.

Sure no problem.......Sounds like you would need a block for the rears!!! I only replaced my front shocks for the time being, I don't know about the back ones since I haven't done them yet......jimc2004 must know what he is talking about since he did a write up on them.
