need help dropping front diff

need help dropping front diff

i'm in the middle of my rancho install and i dont have the right tool or wrench or something how the hell do i get that upper diff bolt out?

If I remember correctly, I used an open ended wrench making like 1/8 turns on the bolt which took a LONG time. It's been so long I can't really remember, but I do know it was a PITA.

I responded to your email, but if you get this first.... I loosened the steering rack and then went from the front with some long extensions and a universal joint.

That is the 'nightmare' bolt of the whole entire installation. Putting the new bolt in the drop bracket is almost just as difficult. Good luck!

yeah know the subframe dont line up perfectly

Sounds like you got it out? If things aren't lining up, you may need to use a floor jack to simulate the ground ie get it to line up under pressure. Make sure your bolts are all loose! Also, it won't line up perfeclty, but close enough that the alignment show will be able to adjust the rest.

the subframe holes wont line up to the old a-arm holes. i trimmed the piece and nothing, wont fit no way no how! i dont wanna egg the holes out more, they are sending me a new subframe to try.
