8in Rize and driveshaft ???

I have an 06 FX4 and just got an 8in Rize kit installed with 37s'. I also got the Rize traction bars installed with the kit and 4in AAL for the rear. I went with the Bilstein5150's.
My question is, it seems my driveshaft is making alot of noise plus its leaking a little tranny fluid. Is this the tale-tale sign of getting a new one? Anyone have a link or info on getting the right size driveshaft if I need to replace it?

Oh before anyone asks, the traction bars are made for the shortbed 250's, but the shop I went to modifies them to fit on a F150. Looks pretty nice.

Thanks

From what I've read I believe the leaking fluid is a sign the shaft is too short. Some people have problems, some don't. With the 4" extra lift in the back the shaft may just be too short, maybe a rough angle too.

I just dropped my truck off at the shop to get a rize 8" put on, you mind sharin some pics of those traction bars on the truck?

You need a drive shaft spacer and it will probally cure both of your problems.

Did those Trac bars come with the kit? Does Rize make them for the F150? The truck looks nice.

The traction bars didn't come with the kit. Thoae are actually Super Duty shortbed bars modified to fit the F150.

Thx for the compliments

Thanks for the pics, looks great. One question, how likely are those to be hit when offroading though, looks like it cuts alot of ground clearance infront of the rear tires.

any chances that shop modifies them and ships them? Also I had to have a driveshaft and was leaking no fluid. my yoke was out 2".. weather or not you need one is usually hit and miss though.

I dont have traction bars and dont know much about them, but i would think they wouldnt go any lower than the rear axle, so it shouldnt give you any less ground clearance really

I second that question...does that shop modify and send/ship to customers? Or do they need the truck there to specifically match each set to a paticular trucks angles, lift, etc., unfortunately I would assume they would need the truck. Where is the shop located? Thanks in advance!

By the way, extremely nice truck there. What branch of the military are you in?

Wow, thanks for the compliments. I've been on this site and tried to make sure I did things right haha. As far as the traction bars go, I'll call the shop and ask if they ship. Honestly they should not have to have a truck there. But from what I recall it's pricey.

I did get a new custom Chromoly Driveshaft from PST Driveshafts, out of Clearwater Fl. I only live a few miles from them and had already bought a custom carbon fiber driveshaft for my sports car when I owned it. Great customer service and prices.

Schmidtty, I am in the AF..15 1/2 years. stationed in MacDill.

FX4life - Mine was short 2-3 inches, guy said it puts alot of strain on the bushing and transmission. So I got one made.

I am also in the AF. I just went over 18 years, so less than 2 more if I choose to retire at 20. Currently stationed at Whiteman AFB in Missouri. Getting ready to deploy in July and will return in Feb 09'. Got to love going to training for 6 weeks before a 6 month deployment.

Good to see more AF/military folks on here.
