I don't like squaty or even perfectly level trucks, so I added the Pro Comp AAL and couldn't be happier with the results. My ride feels about the same as before, or maybe even a little it better. The PC AAL is a long leaf, and they tend to have less effect on the ride than the shorts AALs
I was wrong in my previous statements, the procomp block is 2 inches not 3. Sorry guys.

Well, then maybe I do have the wrong block because I measured again tonight and my factory block is 2" and the pro comp block is 2.5" for a total of 4.5".

????????

MercedesTech: Your truck sits awesome! I definetly need to get my rear up an inch or two. I think I'm going to get the Fabtech 5" block or PC 5.5" block. I too have thought about airbags for towing - just haven't decided yet. I like the idea of a 2" AAL so I can eventually lift my front 2 more inches with bilsteins for more overall lift. Just can't come up with the money right now! lol

Here's mine loaded down a little bit - I think the AAL would really help and it's much cheaper than an airbag setup. Plus I can get another 2" from it.

Pro Comp offered two differrent blocks for the stage one kit. 2.5 or 3 inch block. The 5.5 block was developed due to some states legality of stacked blocks and from customer complaints. So, depending on what block you had with your kit you will have 4.5 or 5 inches of lift. I had the 2.5 aluminum block with the factory 2 inch cast bump stop block. I upgraded to the 5.5 inch block and I love how the truck sits up just a little in the back instead of level.

Wuts the other truck behind yours thats hidden? it looks like another lifted f150!!

O and im kinda curios, why is stacking blocks so unsafe? I have the fabtech 5" block stacked with the factory block that came on my truck. I think it is either 1 1/2" or 2" tall.

Its not so much a saftey factor IMO... more of a wear and tear factor. Any lift block (vs. lift springs) is going to increase axle wrap/wheel hop.

Anything over 5" (some say 6") of lift block starts causing a pretty good amount of axle wrap, axle wrap leads to a different angle on your pinion causing your shaft to bind and has been known to snap yokes, drivelines, and pinions (pinion = rare ! but i *can* happen)

Wheel hop generally wont break anything by itself, but its when the wheels hop, and it combines with some nasty axle wrap, that you start to see breakage.

To help prevent this, you can look into ladder/traction bars. They will help to eliminate some of these problems with our softer springs.

When you stack blocks, you increase the amount of movement, which will increase the amount of wrap you get.

*** now this doesn't mean if you run over 5" of lift block, your going to break things right away... heck, some may never break anything but your pushing your luck, especially if your truck actually sees dirt. And ANY amount of rear lift block increases these chances, the more lift (from the block) the better your chances are of breakage.

oh, and Jditta: truck is gorgeous ! I really like the looks. Good job man !
