compatible shocks

I have a 99 f150 w/ 4.2 2wd with the fabtech 3.5" control arm lift. The rear shocks are fabtech fts7236 specs are below. I was wondering if anyone knows of a shock that would work/fit just as well such as a rancho or something I can get locally w/o ordering. The rear block is 2" (factory?).

extended 24.8 and collapsed 14.6

I have been looking for the same thing and have only found the fabtech performance shocks to be compatible. You can get them for $40 a piece shipped on autopartsway.com. There might be others but I haven't been able to find them. Can you confirm that fts7236 is the correct part number for a 2wd 97-03? Mac

I had emailed fabtech. Convo below.

"have a 99 F-150 2WD with 3.5" performance lift kit. I purchased the truck with the kit installed therefor I know nothing about the exact specs of the kit. One of the rear shocks has started to leak and I was curious if you could provide me with some information such the length. Thanks"

"Our shocks are ext. 24.8 and collapse 14.6,part number fts7236.

Thank you

I talked to the same person at fabtech...Is there any way you could check to see if that is the number on your installed shocks? If it's too much trouble don't worry about it...Thanks, Mac

Do you have any idea where the part number would be? Theyre pretty rusted so I just dont wanna be looking around on them for 20min to find that its covered with rust or something.

It's toward the ring part (opposite the rod)...right above the Fabtech logo. Mac
