i have lakewood traction bars on my truck and they were very simple to install..4 bolts per side.. 25 to 45 minutes tops... dont take this the wrong way but your truck with those tires.. i cant imagine you spinning and getting wheel hop alot..IMO oh yea i got mine for just over $100 and its an awesome traction upgrade

Pro Comp would likely run about $300 and be easy to install.

If you want to go semi custom, get the Rize industries traction bars for a Super Duty, have the ends modified to fit your axle and make a bracket for the frame. That way your rear arms and front arms (that came in your lift kit) will match. Rear lift blocks seem to be a major source of axle hop on these F150s. If you could replace the leaf springs with taller ones and eliminate the blocks you may not need t-bars. Just a thought.

I believe Super Lift also make traction bars for the 2004+ F150.

my guess is he is running a large block in the rear which is causing axle wrap which causes wheel hop. the bigger the block, the less HP it takes to get wheel hop

It dont matter springs or blocks or motor..........

if you drive in the sand your going to get wheel hop no matter what

or if you do a burn out..

or if you do a donut lol

keep the blocks and get bars... be better in the long run
not saying blocks are good... just saying your better off with bars then not haveing them...

Yeah, a stock v6 F150 can get severe axle hop in the dirt... imagine a v8 with tall lift blocks.

I still like the idea of making the Rize traction bars work on the F150... I am a stickler for congruency.

Its posible to make any tractions bars work on your truck. you have fabbing skills ? Cutters ? Grinders ? Welders ? And benders ??

I like Torn's idea, keep the traction bars the same design as the rest of your lift, would look real nice.

Anyone know what kinds of joints the Rize kit uses ? heim ?

And yes, lifted truck with big tires can get some nasty axles wrap, wheel hop. I know I do out in the dirt, drives me NUTS !! I will be looking into fabbing up some of my own, but I have other projects that are ahead in line.

I bought the Pro comp Trac bars for $280 from 4wheelparts.com which is a good price I guess, but you also have to buy the mounting kit for another $150. I mean the Trac bars didn't even come with bushings. In my opinion they are good trac bars but don't forget the mounting kit. That's where thay get ya.

Anything is possible. I wish I had some more information about the Rize traction bars, but I haven't really looked into them. If there is a Rize dealer in your area, see if they have them in stock and go take a look at them. I am positive it would cost more than just buying the Pro Comp or Super Lift traction bars, but to me would be worth it. Your truck is the nicest single cab truck I have seen (ever, anywhere, Ford or otherwise), why not spend the little bit extra and make it even more one of kind.

I have been unable to find Traction bars for a regular cab, I think you will find they are desigined for a ex cab or Screw.
I think I will get the procomp and just weld the front bracket to frame then drill a new hole for the bolts.
Being a shorter truck they are not just a bolt on, would require some fab in the front.

Dirt Bound what Motor do you have in your truck?

Clar,
Pro Comp makes traction bars for your truck. I have a regular cab step side box and my went right on. Bolt the back plate on to the bottom side of axle then lossely install bar, hold mount in place on front and mark holes. About 2 hours to install. You'll love'm, takes care of all axle wrap. Just because they don't list them on the web site is no problem. Give'm a call.

Hope this helps.

night and day difference on burnouts with traction bars
before i got them felt like my whole cab was going to shake apart..
afterwards though smooth as glass... i can't even tell they're spinning.. no noise, no hope, really almost no VIBRATION at all

don't forget though my truck IS 2wd, IS pre-04, and IS lowered....

but what do i know?
