Rancho 4"

I know, I know...this has been asked numerous times before so here it goes again. Where is the cheapest place to buy a 4" Rancho with the 9000 series shocks? All the old posts I could find suggest prices of $1500-$1800 price range. However, I have only been able to find them for around $2000 for the black set. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Carl

Hey Carl,

I picked mine up with the RS9000X shocks online for $1,800 from 4 wheel parts. It was on sale with free shipping when I got it. (I bought it back in November, managed to wait almost 4 months to put it on.) Maybe you can try calling them to see if they can give you a better deal.

So the guy at the local four wheel drive shop quoted me a price of $1958 for the 4" Rancho Lift Kit with the RS9000 shocks. That's about the price that I was finding so that’s no big deal. But my dilemma lies herein...he said that labor costs would be $925 if the shop did it. But also added that he did "work on the side" and his cost would be $640. Will there be any unforeseen problems with this kit down the road where I will need the shop to stand by their work? Or could I feel confident in having this guy do the work for me and not worry about anything done improperly that would affect either the lift components or the parts of my truck?

Unless the guy was a personal friend, I wouldn't even think twice about an extra $300 when I was about to drop $2600. If the shop is reputable and stands behind their work, it's totally worth it, IMO.

I can help you out with the rancho lift.

Send me an email with the part numbers you are looking at and I will see what I can do.

If you can find a way to save $300 on the install, I would.. assuming the guy is capable. There really isn't anything to screw up, basically its just unbolting and bolting. One cut has to be made on the crossmember bracket and the brakes bled after changing the brake hoses. If you want a shop to do it, I'd suggest shopping around for a better install price. I think $925 is a lot to install the Rancho kit... maybe some others will chime in and tell you how much the install was for them.

IMO, those are absolutely ridiculous install prices, especially the $925 quote. Like VTHokie said, there really isn't anything to screw up and it's really not that hard. Certainly not even close to $600-$900 hard...

Thanks guys. What's a more reasonable install price then? I have never had this done before and I am a little naive to the prices.

What shocks do you guys reccomend I run with this kit. All the places I have called do not include the shocks. So far Autoanything.com has the best price on the kit itsself. So of the places have been pushing the 5000 and others the 9000's. What's the difference between the two? I don't don't do any real "offroading"...mainly dirt roads and fields for hunting.

I'm running the RS9000X with mine. I like them so far. The difference between them and the RS5000 is that the 9000X shocks have 9 adjustable settings.... I like options!
