^thats awesome man. I just graduated college with my degree in CJ. I am attending the academy this summer. Are you municipal or state? Oh and thanks for the clarification. I think a body lift will be a good option for me, hopefully they make them for my truck, my wheelbase is huge, I don't think that really matters though. My dad is really against it though. Don't ask me why, he is a diesel/auto tech-mech and has been working on everything since he was a teen, and had a '84 bronco with huge BFG's and a big lift. Why he doesn't want his pride and joy to have the same, beats me.

Well, he doesn't want you to have a body lift because they can be dangerous in certain situations. Lifting the body off of the frame 3 more inches could cause the body to shift on the frame causing serious injury. After all, you are his "pride and joy".

If your plans are to see mainly street and light to mild off-roading, go for it. Since you come from the jeep crowd, who normally like to ride hard, i'd say crank the torsion bars with some 33" M/T's and wait until you get that job and save for a good quality suspension lift.

Good luck and welcome to the site.

^I am planning on getting BFG A/T's (I had B-stone A/T revo's on my jeep, but I love the BFG's), I do mild off roading. I did alot with my jeep, but am planning on TRYING to keep the F-150 nice. The truck is so long though, I don't have the offroad package and my wheelbase is like a bus so IDK how it would be stock off road. The way it is now, probably like an off road couch. Basically I am just going for the look, I mean I want a suspension kit but my off-road habits with this don't warrant me to dump 1k on it. I think either the T-bar or the body lift will be what I go with. I will have the body lift done professionally though, I don't want to risk trying to do it myself with my dad just incase I drive down the road and my truck splits in half lol.

Sounds like a plan, just wanted to make sure you weren't going for some world record jump or something.

Many people on here have done their own BL's. I'm sure they would be very helpful if you decided to tackle the job yourself.

Right now I am running 255/75/16's, but which is a better tire to get...the LT 285, the one below it?
They are cranked about an inch and a half and yes I had to get an alignment(recommended). I don't think the 15" wheels will work.

Well after a year of pondering and waiting, I finally got it on two weeks ago and I love the way my truck looks now. However, now I want to go bigger, I am going to add a suspension lift and bigger tires in a few months. Just fair warning to you, when you go big you will always want to go bigger, so make your decision wisely or it could get expensive. Have fun with all your mods though, I know I am as well as all the others on this site
