'99 4x4 clicking in front end
My friend has a 99 4x4 with 160,000 miles on it, and the front end is clicking when you go over bumps & such. kind if a click & rattle, sounds like a loose fitting hub cap, so thats the first thing i check and its tight. it only comes from the driver side.
also while under the truck i noticed the CV boot on the drivers side is torn and looks like all the grease is gone 'cuz it's dry, and the pass. side is torn also & throwing grease everywhere.
The 4 wheel drive does not seem to be workin either, the light comes on and you can feel something engage, but the front tires dont spin in mud he said. when you put it in 4 LOW, its in low, but front tires still dont spin he said.
is there some sensor with the CV joints & engaging the front axle or anything? obviously we're gonna replace the CVs but im wondering what else we might find while in there.
