gas milage

gas milage

i have a 2000 f150 ext cab 4x4 it has the 5.4 v8 and the 7700 package, i kow it has a 3.73 axle too. i was wondering what milage i should b getting i was getting about 13 mixed and 12 while in 4wheel alot does that seem about right

Yeah I typically get about 13MPG mixed driving also...

I get 13 with 90% town driving same truck as you minus the 7700 package

If you put in an air intake and an edge power programmer your gas mileage will have a unreal increase. worked for me anyways. it cost a bit to do it up front but in six months you'll be saving quite a bit.

adding intake and programmer shouldnt help that much. maybe 1 or 1 1/2 at tops. Its how you drive which changes you mpg that you get. Lay off the gas and you will be shocked

I have the programmer, 3.55 gears, and 5.4. same mileage as him (2x4 & 4x4), from what i've heard intakes don't do $H!+ for mileage. I'm still getting one, but not for mileage gains. maybe they help on the highway, but for town and towing i'm not expecting anything but a little extra power

i get 13 city, but thats babying her and watching my rpms and mph, if i stay at 45-55 i get great gas mileage
