AAL: Good Price?

A local Shop around here Quoted me $300 to add 2" Of Lift to the Rear of my Truck. Thats an AAL or two, new u Bolts and Pins, and Re-Arching my old ones if necessary. Is this a Reasonable Price?

maybe alittle high. the add a leaf should run between 100 for the pro comp and 150 for the autosprings aal. i found a local small off road shop that quoted me 75 bux or 1 hour of labor. so 175 to 225 total should be all you pay.

Sounds like you got quoted from a spring shop and that's a good price. I would charge $350 for the aal and u bolts installed. Advantage to a spring shop is you get a long add a leaf which rides smoother than a short one and they'll also arch both sides to match and can be dead accurate with the height you want. Make sure they install the tip inserts because those 97-03's love to squeak if not installed.

I just added these Rough Country AALs to my 97' F-150 and it gave nearly 3" of lift. I cranked the torsion bars all the way. If you leave the lower leaf in (which it does nothing except give the thickness) and add this one on top of it you'll need new u bolts which cost me $52 for all 4. Awesome price and free shipping http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/P...add%20a%20leaf

Hope this helps!
