Yes, you can back off the preload to lower the front.

F150 super crew 2001 rear wheel drive.

Hi,

i recently bought this truck. the truck is original, i purchased 20' rims and 33', mudgrapler tires. when i bought them they said all i need to put the on is a leveling kit. my question is does this truck come with a torsion bar from factory or will i need to put that on????

Thanks,

Jay

The 97-01 F-150 4x4's have torsion bars. THe 97-01 F-150 4x2's have coilspring.

you could always just spend a little more and just get a 3 inch body lift for 200 hundred bucks and then get 6 buddies a garage and a nice night and in the mornin your truck will roll out 3 inchs higher with out wearin out suspensoin components constantly

You could also tell us if you have a 4x4 or 4x2 truck and we could answer your question.

I agree

I agree with Wandell, I tried the coil spring spacer and they are a pain to install. Unless you change the coil to one with more spacing between the rings, I think you're better off with the body lift. This is what I'm now going to do.

Daystar Products makes an easy install 2 1/2" lift polyurethane coil spacer kit for 04-08 F150 (KF09111BK) and for the 2009 (KF09124BK). You don't even have to disassemble the front strut assembly. The spacer kit mounts with stud extenders to the top of your stock strut assembely. It takes about 2 hours to install with normal hand tools.

what they are saying is if your truck is 4x4 then you have the torsion bars and you can ajust those for a little. if your truck is 4x2 then you will need a leveling kit.

The 04-11 F-150's don't have torsion bars. They have coilover shocks.
